  • hey there. So would I do 720x480x60i at 16.9 if i want it to be HD on a tv?

  • @mtn2park

You can only make Standard Definition Video on DVD's - it is the only choice.

It will play on an HD TV.

If you want to make a HD Video for a HD TV, then you will have to make a BluRay Disc.

  • at 8:45 on your drawing, you put in a button "that when pressed goes right back to the beginning. It actually doesn't go back to the beginning, but just back to the previous menu.

How can I create a go back to home, or root menu button using DVD Architect 5?

  • @WeWereYoungandCrazy

When you ADD a Button, you then have to program it.

    Quick example:

Go to menu page you want link added to.

Go to Buttons Tab - press "Insert button" icon at top left - drag to corner.

Now press on top and then go to Button Properties (right top)

Select "Action" - Destination - Open drop down list and select Menu 1.

    That's it.

  • @TemporalParadox1

Thank you for the excellent info, it worked like you said it would. And though I should have mentioned it earlier, this is really one of the best, most concise, tutorials I have ever watched. Good work. How may I contribute?

  • is the program free?

  • @themonest

DVD Architect Studio comes packaged with Vegas Movie Studio when you buy VMS.

  • i burned one disk but when i try to burn another one it says an unexpected error

  • @joseromeroayala Part One:

There are many different reasons for error messages to occur. My experience has shown that 99% of the time it is something simple.

You can try this first to burn your 2nd disc:

Re-boot DVD Architect with NO projects open.

Press "Make DVD" icon in toolbar.

Select "Burn" - Previously Prepared Folder

Press "Browse" and find you DVDA Project Look for a folder that says "My Discs" - this contains the files ready for burning another disc.

Press OK and follow the prompts.

  • @joseromeroayala

    Part Two:

This method should work, but there are many variables once again, and it is always hard to diagnose problems when I can't see exactly what you are doing.

Send me a private message to tell me how you go.

    p.s.

Make sure you have plenty of spare Hard Drive space - because these DVD files can be up to 4 - 8 GB's in size.

  • ok now I made my dvd but what so I do about the audio?

  • @ImBrookeyB

I can't read minds - more explanation of exactly what you have done please and what has happened, which program are you in? The more detail the better, so I don't have to send a hundred messages backwards and forwards.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Nevermind I figured it out thanks though!

one question: How I can keep animated background behind the menu...

    pls send me mail...

are on twitter or on Facebook..

    Thank you... Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...

  • @Avinashchavan01

An animated background is very easy.

Just select a short video that you want to use and then do this:

Right-click on top of the Menu and select "Set Background Media"

Then navigate to the video you want to use and select it.

  • @Avinashchavan01

No, I am not on Twitter or FB.

  • @123shabreesh

DVD's only use MPEG2 - this is an International Standard.

When you place different video codecs inside DVD Architect, it actually re-renders the file to MPEG2.

So you need to convert your AVI's to MPEG2 before putting them in DVDA.

AVI is only a video "container" for many different codecs.

Codecs like DivX or Xvid DO not play in Vegas - they must be converted.

  • Hey, can you put subtitle options on the menu?

  • R u Aussie?

  • @britsluver

    Yes ! Don't I sound Aussie enough?

I better go down to the bottleo and buy a slab of VB right now.

  • Hi,

Any advice/tutorial for producing an ISO file from architect 5 so that I can use DVD style navigation on my Media Player (Popcorn A210) as media players are becoming very desirable opposed to DVD's

    Regards Dave

  • @dbwowuk

That's out of my knowledge zone.

  • This was really useful, thanks for posting. Glad to see that good old paper and pen still have a place!

  • @andrewnorris2

    Thank you for your appreciation.

There are a lot of things you can do in DVD Architect - I have only scratched the surface in this video.

I will never retire my clutch pencil and notebooks.

    Peace :)
