  • Daniel Wilkinson claims that the embargo gives castro an excuse for the human rights violations that take place in Cuba. I'm not defending the embargo, but does Wilkinson believe that a totalitarian dictator needs an excuse to rule a country? Does he think that castro is so totally lacking in imagination that if the embargo were lifted, he would not think of some other lame excuse to continue in power?

While the embargo has not toppled the regime, neither has engagement. Remember Jimmy Carter?

  • Fidel Castro , a morano removed ownership of the resources of Cuba from the hands of the Sephardim

  • There are things you can't say in the USA or you will be surveillanced and harassed ans never be allowed to speak in the media (you cant say thay the government was complicit in the 9/11 attacks). There are things you can say and be thrown in prison for in Europe too (holocaust denial). What in particular can you not say in Cuba? Maybe being a spokesperson for the ravenous immoral transnational corporations will get you thrown in prison there?

  • great interveiew

  • Great interview... I think the analysis of the Cuban political situation is right on the spot, and would would make both righwingers and leftwingers rethink their positions.

  • The essay in Nation is a great read

  • All I have to say is 5 stars for the Blackwater book in the background
