BJ Penns lack of cardio ftw. He would of beat Nick if he had gas left in the tank. He beat Nick the first round when he had stamina. I believe it was 10-9 on all 3 judges score cards for Penn. Who is to say he would not of done it in the second and third? Or finished him even.

everybody keeps saying about Penn's lack of cardio. The guy took like a hundred body blows from Diaz of course he will slow down and get tired. He still made it to the final bell going through 2 rounds of non stop rain of punches from a bigger opponent with a great reach advantage. You dont do that just by heart (with the exception of Sakuraba), he had great cardio coming in this fight..

@atrixospithikos BJ's cardio was terrible. I dont know how anyone could say it looked great. He unloaded his entire tank in the first round (he won the first) and had no reserves left. He doesnt pace himself well, and that's what Nick Diaz does best.

It definitely gives you a better perspective on things from more angles though. The change is permanent too after a few times. The only way to get smarter is to learn the old fashioned way by taking in information and retaining it. No other WW fighter want to taste 150 to 170 punch on the face per fight. Usually fighters land 40-50 even 70 punch max in a fight. Nick Diaz landed 170 on 290 total.
Another thing is even BJ can't do shit with Diaz on the ground. Can't choke him from the back, can't pass, etc.
