yes but the electric dirt bikes are only made for light off road, not motocross racing. Slower trail riding (not made for whoop de doos either) is really where they're fun. There's almost no heat, no parts hitting eachother to fatigue and no vibration to undo bolts and crack frames. Even if it were to break the whole engine is available as a spare, takes 15 minutes to swap and costs less than a major service on a petrol bike.

The MX/X swap batteries in under a minute, the other charges while you play. Several hours down time is a myth, it just doesn't happen. The extra battery costs less than 3 major services and the current ones last 3000 cycles (over 1000 hours). For my KTM that would be 12 major and 36 minor services. Battery saves over $20000 just in service cost.

But not at comparable components or dimensions. Not dissing the bike - but it will lose 1:1 comparison to existing 250 4-strokes. You can see even in the video that it doesn't look too peppy. Clutch and 2or 3 speed gearbox would help too in keeping in control and keeping the motor in happy rpm range.
Its all interesting. And pushes the development - however I think that when KTM/honda/yamaha choose to play the e-game seriously they will eat the new start ups alive.

@thedkuke There's no throttle delay at all. Instant hit from any speed at any time. Never in the wrong gear, never stall up a snotty hill.

these bikes would be great to sneek around nabor hoods and go in to forest's and stuff without geting in trouble the only reason you get in trouble riding is because dirtbikes are to loud i like loud tho but it isnt alays a good thing

lol as much as i love electric bike from a spectator standpoint it aint the same without the sound but maybe if we keep the gas on the track and the eletric of its better less gas burt and more smiles urnt

yeah right, the rider isnt perfect and you wouldn't know cause you want even properly grip the bike with your legs. and i saw on of the guys case a jump, thats defiantly not perfect.

@DrDarwinian No, some dirt bikes still use premix if the oil injection system is broken. A lot more 4 strokers now though.
I saw the show American Chopper on TV (A&E channel), OCC built a nice electric chopper. It was sweeeeeeeeeeeet.
