  • looking for friends

want to chat with singles Vu

  • lol its great

  • very nice that same at the motel story!

  • this commercial was great, they shouldnt stop producing more like this!

just like we support womens/black/hispanic rights, we should support the deaf community

  • The one and only who sucks is YOU. Somebody should cut your ears and eyes off and then come back and leave another comment here.

  • Oh wow!

I cant believe I didnt see that during the game.

    >_>

I didnt even know about it until my sign language teacher told us to look it up.

  • thats because it wasn't on during the game, it was in like the pre-show. Man your lucky @ my new school they dont offer sign language ^n^

  • Really?

Well, our class is kind of lame, we dont have helpful items like books or anything, we have to get it all off the internet.

    Lots of printing.

    -sigh-

  • oh our teacher just kinda drilled it down our throats ^u^ idk i havn't taken it in like 3 years so i've kinda lost touch

My mom teaches it to here 3-4 year olds though ^u^ school teachers

  • This is my second year in the class, but Ive still only got the knowledge of a first year.

Im pretty sure our teacher doesnt know the first thing about TEACHING the language.

    She just knows it well.

  • Aid Hearing people not get arngy attack deaf go to die really sad no big deal never show life tv culther deaf Bye Bye.

  • love it!!

  • Hahaha.....one of the best Deaf Jokes there is! I'm taking sign so I understand what the guys are saying.....great commercial!

  • superbowl sunday bong hits ^^^^ if ur interested but this commercials dope lmao

  • *Signing* This was awesome. I could follow it with no problem. Reminds me of a story that my teacher had us sign. Where did you find this? I would love to see more. PEACE OUT!

  • they didnt even show this commerial on the superbowl on my channel. this commerial isnt that good anyway. most of the superbowl commerials sucked this year

  • This comercials idea is derived from a story from the DEAF comunity and is very funny

it may not be good according to your critiqueing

but i think it is great

  • They did air it- during the Pre-Game. I doubt that you were watching however. This is an excellent commercial that shows the deaf community having the ability to do anything.

  • lol my sister and brother in law were laughing their asses off. XDDD they are deaf. I so get it. If i was deaf I would do the same thing! XDDD

  • You guys don't get it. It is not about 6:30pm eastern. It is about WHY every house have their lights out with people inside other than going to bed? When honking, every house turned lights on with 'deaf house' still in dark? LOL. If Bob is planning super bowl party at his house, why is light in his house out, along with all other houses? 6:30pm eastern, kick off time? hello?

  • Uh, it's a commercial? It's been staged? It's supposed to be humorous?

Duh if Bob was having a party at his house the lights would be on, but that would defeat the purpose of this commercial wouldn't it?

    It's TV.

    Stop being real :P

  • Defeat the purpose of this commercial?

    I rest my case.

  • fuck u

  • u people think too much, its just a joke, chillax...

  • ????

  • that was terrible!

  • Like to expand on that thought?

  • That was awsume! It made me laugh. See i am in ASL and my teacher told me a joke just like this commerical!

  • So I understood this whole comerical! I loved it they did a prefect job on it

  • oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh that commercial is awesome dats kewl very krel it took me like a couple of seconds to get it but its kewl xD

  • who cares the the damn kickoff was its a commercial you moron and a hilarious one at that stop over analyzing everything

  • very clever... and 630 is night time on the east coast

  • Just a quick comment that it makes no reference as to how far they have to drive to get to the super bowl, (being that the neighborhood has a lot of green grass and trees I am guessing that they are not in AZ) not to mention parking and getting into the stadium all take a lot of time. So all the comments about the game not starting until 6:30 pm Eastern don't make the commercial any less intelligent, in fact it shows more fore thought about people planning a full days activities of having fun.

  • Very Cool!

  • i lol'd

  • Lmao that was great! Very clever.

  • best silent commercial EVER!

  • My moms deaf, and she cracked up when she saw this.

  • I thought it was a damn clever ad. However I have hearing so perhaps I do not have the best viewpoint.

  • I am deaf man from Colorado. The deaf ad is poorly planned. In the ad, one deaf guy complained about missing kickoff, but why are the hearing people already in bed sleeping when Super Bowl were about to kick off at 6:30pm Eastern (4:30pm in Denver)?!? And the deaf guy honked to wake everyone or annoyed the dog, before figure out the 'deaf' house on the street. All of this for Pepsi?!? What a joke. I am glad that this ad will not be in SB ad contest for us to vote becsue it sucks.

  • I sure hope you didn't think the commercial with the screaming squirrel was more realistic!

  • You are pretty stupid. Just because someone has their lights off does not mean they're sleeping. And the ad was done by two deaf guys that work for Pepsi to raise awareness about the deaf community in America. There are quite a few articles about it on the net. Try to actually read one.

  • and that neighbor-lady did not wear sleepwear? Maybe you need a glasses. Come on, use your common sense. How come this ad took place at DARK in the NIGHT when when the kickoff was about to start? The kickoff was only started at 6:30PM eastern, meaning its 3:30pm in LA. Good timing, don't you think so? Bad timing for their ad on their part. Will someone please turn on the light in my house, I want to see that stuipd deaf ad before kickoff! (scoff).

  • lol so what house was bobs???

  • Bob is deaf like his friends, so he's the only person in the neighborhood who didn't hear the honking.

  • And why did Bob apologized to annoyed woman (or neighbors) after opening doors for his deaf friends? Did he realize that his friends honked before parking on his drive way. I noticed that his friends did not explain to Bob that they honked after he answered the door. Or was it because of Bob's interior lights flashing after doorbell have annoyed his neighbors too?!

  • Or could it be since this is a joke in the deaf community, he knew exactly what his friends had done? Do some research into what you do not know about before you start making comments.

  • i did not get this at all

  • There is a joke within the deaf community that says...if you're looking for a deaf person's house late at night and can't find it...just honk your horn really loud.

The only house that doesn't turn their lights on is the house with the deaf person in it :).

  • hahahaha...funny

  • oh i see..

    i didn't get it either..then i read yer comment

    thnx

  • Hi, Here mlm's comments is that, many deaf people are complaining about Deaf Ad Superbowl is supposed to be on TV but not. What's going on??? Pls let me know about it. Thanks!

    mlm

  • Yeah JS911, I did not see it either, but it sure would have been GREAT !!

  • I get it ^^

  • I didnt see this during the Superbowl and I checked Myspace because they had all the ads on there and it wasnt up there either. Did they not air it, or did I miss it big time?

  • yess ... the baby 1's r halarious

  • It aired BEFORE the super bowl, durng the pre game show

  • its an old joke from within the asl comunity its a huge leep for death culture

  • you mean DEAF culture?!?!

  • haha sry wrote that realy late and yes i mean deaf culture wow i feel retarded

  • They're not dead they're just deaf!!!

  • lol I keep checking my volume.

  • GIANTS

  • lmao this is hillarous!

  • My Brother is deaf so i know everything she says without the words on the screen p.s. go GIANTS YOU RULE

  • yeah, my ASL teacher told us about this too. I think it's really clever.

  • "some people" are fukin crybabys , like some minoritys. It is a great commercial! Grow up!

  • some people of the deaf community is annoyed by this because they didn't use a deaf actor. The deaf man is played by a hearing person. its not thattttt big of a deal, but they would have prefered a deaf actor do it. because truthfully, deaf people and hearing people DO sign a little bit differently.

  • this is is actually the first time we've ever gotten a deaf commercial on tv, and during one of the must hectic times of the year. im deaf myself, and nobody ever relizes that there are more deaf societies than you think. we're not as inncent or stupid as you think we are. we know more than you relize. we owe it all to our interpeters and our 4 other fuckin senses.

  • no one cares

  • My ASL teacher told me about this ad. xD He told us there was an old deaf joke in it, but I didn't know what it was until now. xD xD Nice one.

  • oh cuz the friends house is owned by a deaf person... got it, no horn, funnyy lol

  • My ASL teacher told me the joke, and the original is funnier :), you should ask your teacher to show it to you it'll make you laugh

  • Who are they? I am deaf and dont mock at deaf world that cant bother u at all

  • Actually deaf employes for Pepsi came up with idea and they are the ones acting it out for the commercial as well.

  • Its supposed to be a positive ad for the deaf,

check "Super Bowl Sunday Pepsi Commercial at Bob's House" video here on youtube it explains more about this commercial

  • This commercial is based on an old joke in the Deaf community. As a daughter of a Deaf person, and a professional Intepreter let me remind you people that Deaf people DO have a sense of humor and the joke of driving around honking your horn to find the Deaf people "in the dark" has been around longer than I've been alive. Relax. No big deal. (I'm sure Pepsi would do their research before possibly insulting a few million Deaf Americans... ya think?) GO GIANTS!!

  • At first I did attempt to stay out of the disagreement between you and JazziGirl, but the temptation to correct a rude ignorant person as yourself was far to great. First of Pepsi is not trying to portray Deaf individuals as "douchebags", in all actuality the commercial is based off an old Deaf joke which many Deaf people are fond of.

  • Secondly if you have the balls to comment on someones stupidity you should probably research or have some prior knowledge of the situation before you throw your option around, this will probably help you avoid seaming like as you would say a "douchebag"

    Yous truly,

    *Delusion

  • Because deaf people only have deaf friends, AMIRITE?

  • soooooooo....everyone that can hear is going to sleep through the Super Bowl? Is that what this stupid commercial is trying to tell me?

  • Of course deaf people would find this funny. I have talked a few of them about this already and they thought it was funny.

  • In my experience most deaf ppl have a well-developped sense of humour, I think they would find this funny.

Any deaf ppl out there wanna put in their 2 cents ?

  • Uh, deaf people are not rude, they are better than you because you have much less common sense than my parents (they're deaf). Anyways, thank you, for insulting your own human race. It's lovely to know that you're discriminating yourself, isn't it?

  • If I can stand up to you like that, no, I'm not an idiot. Oh, and by the way, do you even know what it's like to be deaf? What if tomorrow you wake up not being able to hear anything. Or if you find out that Pepsi becomes a cure for cancer. What would YOU do then, huh? I'm not even deaf myself, but fluent in sign language. Why? I was raised by deaf parents. I bet that you know NOTHING about Deaf Culture. It's like saying you hate chocolate without ever even trying it.

  • I didn't insult deaf people as a whole. I insulted you for being unable to understand sarcasm, and I was mocking Pepsi for making a commercial in which deaf people are portrayed as douchebags. Unless your parents go around waking up neighborhoods, the only thing I have against them is that they raised a moron who has no reading comprehension or ability to understand sarcasm.

  • u owned that bitch

  • deaf people made and came up with the idea for the commerical your the dumb shit.

  • That's so cute!!!

  • just so you all know i don't think this is that real ad

  • No, it is. You'll see it in the super bowl.

  • Very funny...and original.

  • It's great!!

  • something is wrong with the audio I cant hear anything...

  • are you seriours of are you just joking...the commerical is suppoer to be silent

  • hooked it up to your television and turn all the volume up and you can hear it!!!!...LOL...

  • wow people these days r stupid *couch* vinnieC39 *cough*

  • no you just dont have a sense of humor. And quit coughing I am not holding your nuts

  • *couch* sarcasm *couch* *couch*

  • I... don't... I don't even know what to say.

  • that was awesome.

    I'm deaf and sign language.

  • Fuckin brilliant

  • Excellent! I hope to see more commercials like this which are visionary, mainstreaming differences as the norm, including diversity within the deaf community, and stepping out of a traditional advertising mindset. Thank you Pepsi.

  • pepsi.... stuff's mingin

  • Yeah, but why does it look like it's the middle of the night and everyone's asleep if it's before the Super Bowl?

  • excellent. altho i think i would have liked it better without the intro. maybe just a blurb at the end.

  • Good... but it will never top the Budweiser Clydesdale's silent tribute to 9/11 ad. That one is simply unbeatable.

  • yea a couple not all god u got problems. what ifthey do try to live life deaf.atleast they dnt bitch about it lik how u seem to even tho u dnt hav the problem

  • People like you ought to be shot right in the head!!!!!!!

  • Haha! Great commercial.

  • I'm not sure if the deaf have a "culture"

But whatever, lmao i like this commercial.... and pepsi! (if you want to respond, respond to ME)

  • the deaf have a culture just like whites, blacks, hispanics, or any other culture group

  • how? becuase they have a language? that's nothing new. Do you ever hear about Blind culture?

  • Blind people don't have their own language. And no, braille is not a language.

There is such a thing as Deaf culture, although not all deaf people are involved with it. Deaf culture has it's own language, history, jokes, poetry and literature, etc.

Simple linguistics and sociology clears that one up.

  • I'm not sure if the deaf have a "culture".

But whatever, lamo i like this commercial.... and pepsi!

  • i personally like coke better (because they generally use less skanks in thier adds)

    but this commerical was great

  • good

  • but cool commercial

  • COKE IS BETTER!

  • I think it is a good commercial but there was no reason for it to be totally silent. Deaf people watch regular TV with sounds. It should have been totally silent until he starts honking the horn and the dog barking

  • very true

  • This commercial is actually a play on an old Deaf joke: "An elderly Deaf couple are staying at a motel. In the middle of the night, the wife gets a splitting headache. Waking her groggy husband from the bed, she asks him to get her asprin from the car. (ctd)

  • Dazed and still half-asleep, the husband walks out of the hotel room and heads out to the car to get the asprin. As he slowly wakes back up, he realizes he has no idea which room his wife is in. Suddenly, he has an idea. He presses down on the car's horn, and waits. Quickly, all the lights in the motel turn on - All but one. His wife's room. With a smile, the man returns back to his room."

  • horrible comercial, but i still dont know why people perfer coca cola instead of pepsi. pepsi is actually cheeper, and tastes the same. i realy cant taste a difference

  • maybe because some people (like me) can taste the difference dumbass ...

  • pshhh!

    COKE RULES!!!!

  • Great homage to the Deaf community!!

Pepsi showed their respect to the Deaf by connecting with NAD. Good for Pepsi

  • You're IGNORANT.

  • At one point there I thought I lost sound. lol. Great Commercial

  • I'd say it's a good commercial for a bucket of piss product.

  • how come i didn heard anything when he honks

  • Because there is no audio, brainiac. It's a Deaf commercial.

  • It kind of gives you a chance to be profoundly deaf, to "see" the sounds instead of hearing them.

  • Indeed and i am proud to be deaf!! nothing to be shame of!!

  • Amazing commercial. Very creative.

  • Very creative...

  • omg i actually raised the volume in my computer thinking it was on mute!

  • This ad is unfair to blind people. They are going to think something is wrong with their tv.

  • very forgettable (sorry Pepsi)

  • Very forgettable? Sure. Sorry that Pepsi made a Super Bowl commercial with a message. I understand that, with your intellect, you would prefer the ads with fart jokes and dancing monkees

  • How about instead of just giving your opinion and letting it stand on it's own merit, you do that and ALSO attack people who don't agree?!? That sir, is truly the mark of a superior intellect. Congrats!

  • Sorry, it just pisses me off how people with disabilities are thought of as lesser participants in society. I've seen a lot of racist, predjudice attitudes on youtube lately and it concerns me

  • I agree Gilch. Although be aware that many Deaf people, myself included, don't think of deafness as a disability.

  • some of the stuff she was signing didn't match up with the translation in the beginning

  • The introduction was done in American Sign Language, which has a different word order than English. Since the signs are in ASL and the captions are done in English, they aren't going to match up.

  • What does this have to do with Pepsi?

  • Pepsi: It makes you deaf, but tastes better than Coke.

  • AP NEWS is now pushing for PEPSI? God, I hate corporations, they are all in bed together like the corporate media. America has become one big shopping mall. BUY STORE BRAND SODA SCREW BIG CORPORATE PEPSI. They have raised their price 40% in the last few years. When have you gotten a 40% raise?

  • Better yet, if you drink soda, drink the good stuff from independent companies like Boylan's or Stewarts that use real flavors and SUGAR instead of HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.

Not that sugar is super healthy, but HFCorn syrup leads to diabetes and other health problems even faster. Sugar tastes better than HFCS. HFCS uses hydrochloric acid in its manufacturing. No thanks!

  • not that I have anything against deaf or mute people, but I am not a fan of this commercial.

  • when's the super bowl???

  • I wouldn't think that would be safe for them to drive, being deaf. Then again, you have people blasting their speakers at inhuman decibles, all while driving.

  • When I took ASL in college my teacher told us a story just like this.

  • they are mute, and he is deaf. very cute, go superbowl!!!

  • They are all deaf.

  • sorry i just dont get the story of the commercial

like who was that girl and why was the guy like sorry

  • i was here

  • very nice advert.

  • lol

  • That was just plain awesome.

I just hope that the "hearies" get it.

That is going into my favorites! :)

  • im surpirsed no one elsed thaght of that before
