You see, the army had tested a few prototypes before the kriss arrived. XM8, HK 416 and a few others. Thay found it to be too cost-intensive.

@InnocentPaperclip Plus, the range of the kriss isn't good enough. It uses pistol ammo and the barrel isn't long enough for long-range engagement. Look at the M4, M16 and other bullpups. This one is only an SMG, not an assault rifle. Even the P90 PDW has a longer barrel.

I dont know why everyone always refers to the .45 as a massively powerful cartridge. I find it pretty damn easy to handle in a pistol, so in a shoulder fired gun it still is pretty easy. If you wanna get up there in "man stopping" power then you need to use a 10mm or 44 magnum in a full power load. Then you have some recoil and real knock down power.

I don't deny the Kriss has better stopping power but their test was just dumb. With the MP5 he hits the chest once, but with the Kriss he hits the head. Much more leverage to knock the target down with the Kriss shot being about a foot higher.

My point, the farther the bullet goes the longer it's being drained of KE

from that distance it is but certain rounds are not so good on vehicles, especially while moving. At the right angle 5.62 rounds have been known to get deflected by windshields. but yeah from that angle and distance it is a little pointless also considering that if your using an smg on a moving vehicle your probably using the wrong gun. but with all that said who would ever refuse the chance to fire the kriss at a car. this guy has a great job

Uhh, and lol bunnies, if you're reffering to some 'new kind of P90', I hope you're reffering to the FN F2000, which uses the same 30 round STANAG that M16's, M4's, and other common assault rifles(meaning it's no SMG, it uses 5.56x45Nato rounds). The PP 19 Bizon uses 9x18 makarov rounds with 9.1 inch barrels and the 9x19 para with the 8.9 inch barrel. Plus the PP 19 doesn't use 65, it uses a 64 round helical mag for the 9x18 and a 53 round mag with the 9x19.

Bullet = The projectile.

When I was 12, I had an idea a gun with a similar principle. After shooting my dad's friend's Thompson, and trying to control the recoil and muzzle rise as a 12 year old, I asked what made it do that. When I got home, I was trying to think of ways to reduce those effects. I looked up a diagram of how the Thompson worked, and I had the idea to re-direct the force of the bolt downward by means of a spring loaded roller bearing. I mean, I was 12, so I doubt it would have worked anyway, but still.

the problem with their comparison with the mp5 is that this one has a scope, so an unfair advantage. and he hit the target higher with the kriss, so it was more likely to fall.

first off the scope looks to be an EOTec red dot that has no magnification. just a holographic red dot. reason being for the scope is because the weapon has a flat top picitany rail with no flip up sights. they do this so you can mount whatever optic you want and lets be honest, optics are better than open sights 99% of the time. and mac is a former navy seal sniper. i dont think the difference in sights will make much difference with him.

It's a good smg, the only problem is that it's rpm is to high, it only takes a second to empty a clip. They brought the thompson down to 800 or 600 rpm for WWII. I hope they will do the same for the KRISS
