  • thank you so much for this. this is really hard for me so many old friends gone. thank you.

  • hi, do you have the outro to that show where they play the song and it shows the guy jumping off a roof onto a horse? i have been looking for that for years and years. thanks.

  • Thanks for posting this, Those were good days to actually see 'B' Westerns on television thanks to Sunset's "Six-Gun Heroes" and Riders in the Sky hosting "Tumbleweed Theater" on The Nashville Network. Back when video collecting was beginning to catch on these provided a chance to actually see Fred Scott, Smith Ballew, Bob Steele and so many others. The film prints were usually in rough shape and cut but what a treat after just reading about them in articles. Thanks Amigos!. Two-Gun Dan :)

  • i use to watch this also in the 80'sit was on saturday morning.it even showed some other things on there like old newreels and cartoons.it was like being back in the 1940's&50's.never told anyone i watched the show.people would look at you as if you were nuts"why do youwatch that old *%# for?"..simple i love it!! =8^)

  • I am so glad that PBS brought this back to television. If any of you out there still long to see this on TV as I do, and you live in South Carolina, it now comes on PBS every Friday night at 11 PM.

  • WOW! This really brings back a hell of a lot of memories for me. As a kid growing up in South Carolina in the 80's, this used to come on channel 11 everyday at 2 PM. And everyday at that same time, I was right there in front of the telelvision set watching Sunset Carson ride into my living room. Me and my brother grew up to our dad showing us the likes of Charles Starrett, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers. I hope someday that I can share the magic with my kids, as my dad did with me.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this! It brought back a torrent of memories of when I used to run downstairs to watch this on Saturday mornings on PBS in the 80s

  • what happen to sunset carson

  • The setting for this video is Alamo Village, a Western movie location in Bracketville, Texas. While it was the location for the filming of John Wayne's the Alamo, it was not used as far back as Sunset indicates in his opening remarks. The old film footage of him is from his 1945 Republic film, Sante Fe Saddlemates (which co-starred Linda Stirling, Republic's serial queen.) Shortly after this series was released on PBS, Sunset Carson renewed his career making personal appearances at film fairs.

  • Unbelievable!! I loved that song as a child; and I thought I would never hear that again. It was sang by the legendary "Whisperin'" Bill Anderson, a native of SC as myself. And old cowboy movies like these are hard to come by. Sunset Carson was among the best in westerns; like Tex Ritter, Ken Maynard, Roy Rogers, and Gene Autry.
