  • thanks for this ! what a band !

  • I saw these guys live in Buffalo back in the day... easily one of the best concerts I've seen in my life (and I've been to well over 100...) I miss music like this and miss the days that allowed it all to happen...

  • New"fun'land rocks!!!

  • I have this taped on VHS somewhere too!! Great band, and a great bunch of guys......

  • Holy God I have this show on VHS somewhere. Mike & Mike and The Northern Pikes forever!!!!

  • i haven't seen mike & mike in yrs! omg. i wonder if their still around. they were fun at the time!

  • My car ate my only copy of Neptune a while back... I've been dying to listen to Chain Of Flowers for months now. Is the album available for purchase any where? Aside from Mp3s...

  • I grew up with the Pikes in the 1980s - perhaps the best, most consistent band out of Canada at the time. I've seen them a number of times live - always a great show!

  • The Northern Pikes are a talented Canadian pop-rock band and they have many great cd's such as: Snow In June, Hit's And Assorted Secrets, It's A Good Life and Truest Inspiration. {Larry}

  • The Northern Pikes just have this raw visceral emotion in their music. They lack polish, but that's there strength. Even the sad songs seem filled with hope. I just love the Pikes!

  • I'm in this video on the sidelines 7.5 months pregnant. LOVE THE PIKES

  • There's nothing cooler than a guitar solo by Bryan Potvin from The Pikes...he's right up there with Hendrix and The Edge...imho.

  • @UnforgettablePop Hendrix? You serious?

  • The Northern Pikes simply Canada's best rock band.!

  • @bluexer best overall tune I have EVER heard by a Canadian band.

  • @phrydoom ya nevermind world class bands like rush, the hip and triumph.. lol the pikes were good but not in the same league as the guess who, max webster etc etc etc

  • @billydreed1 Dude, I agree with you completely.

  • @billydreed1 actually on a strictly music and songwriting level the Pikes were on par with anyone. the guess who only had a few superlative songs, who the eff was max webster?

  • @kingryan69 not true, the pikes musicianship was very basic, with a few catchy tunes. the guess who and BTO were far and away a more talented group. Max webster was a freaky bunch from sarnia canada in the 70's fronted by kim mitchell. a true guitar virtuoso.

  • @billydreed1 its not always about technical skill although Potvin and semko are both very good. the guess who were overrated, tbh I dont even like most of their music, BTO had one big hit and a couple minor ones, and Kim mitchell? yeah he is famous for a song about patio lanterns even tho hes a solid guitarist. and apparently you havent listened to much of the pikes or you would know they were pretty amazing songwriters.

  • @kingryan69 You must be young. Max is one of the best Canadian bands ever. Kim mitchell was main songwriter and vocalist and of course guitar. Try listening to the albums Mutiny Up My Sleeve or High Classed in Borrowed Shoes. This is where Kim Mitchell is at his best , never cared for his solo stuff.
