I bought one like this for $20...great buy...I improved mine by buying a roll of mylar and glueing it onto the cooker...this increased my heat and reduced cooking time!
solar-slow-cooker dot com has prices and much more info. Putting just the food into the bag probably won't work well. You need something DARK to turn the light energy into heat energy. A flashy survival demonstration is to cook corn on the cob inside a black sock, (no pot) in the bag. A clean sock is preferred.
