Syesha has come a long way since this- broadway etc. She does have a very rich lower register in most of the song- she should have listened t o all the different performances of this song and changed it up to use more of her rich lower registers- she gets shakier and thinner in the high registers- she should have powered through the song more- she has that talent- and used the lower register that she had. She is young- she should have found a younger way and it would have been amazing!

It may be oversung a little, but you must really understand her underdog story. Her fan base definitely paled in comparison to all 3 guys in the final 4. Just making it to the Top 3 is incredibly difficult for someone like Syesha.
I thought it was great, it was her defining moment. Even though I don't think this was her best best, I think it was her best week overall (considering both performances vs. just one in like top 7 or 8)

well I do think that Carrie Underwood did deserve to win. I don't give Kelly Clarkson full credit because tamyra left to early and Nikki stayed too long. all other seasons are up for debate. Jennifer Hudson though has proven who the real idol was for her season. oscar and a grammy.

It may be oversung a little, but you must really understand her underdog story. Her fan base definitely paled in comparison to all 3 guys in the final 4. Just making it to the Top 3 is incredibly difficult for someone like Syesha.

I thought it was great, it was her defining moment. Even though I don't think this was her best best, I think it was her best week overall (considering both performances vs. just one in like top 7 or 8)

sorry but, she yells her high notes and it's not pleasant to listen to. Although she is a fabulous singer. Iwish she could control it it bit.

Syesha was pretty amazing... but she usually ended up disappointing me with her song selection. This was actually her wisest choice, and Randy was very off and his critique.

ugh. this makes me soo mad because i swear the producers must have wanted like a david vs. David showdown because Syesha is way better and talented than both of the Davids and made me kind of lose my faith in the truthfulness of American Idol becuase the best singer should win and David Cook was not the best singer in the show

well I do think that Carrie Underwood did deserve to win. I don't give Kelly Clarkson full credit because tamyra left to early and Nikki stayed too long. all other seasons are up for debate. Jennifer Hudson though has proven who the real idol was for her season. oscar and a grammy.

It's amazing how people like different things because otherwise we'd all be listening to the same songs and using the same ride at the carnival. You thinking Carrie deserved it is your opinion. And I respect it.
But,
The best voice is the voice that provides the most range (in key) while singing live and producing audibly pleasing noises. Based on this, the best voice never, ever won Idol.

i agree with your assessment of what makes the true american idol, but i have to ask you. Who had the best range in carrie's season. it certainly wasn't Bo Bice. Would you at least agree that she is the best singer (range and all) to win idol.

Vonzell Solomon hit higher and lower notes than both Carrie and Bo. Her range exceeded Carrie's by about 4 steps.

I don't like her like i used to. looking back, i think Jennifer Hudson had the best voice of that season. but i did ask for winners. I wanted Vonzell to win, but I still think Carrie sounded better.

Just because a person has the greatest range does not mean they have the best vocal talent. Carrie Underwood was more than deserving of her title.

I stayed up all night voting for her to get into the finals but alas my efforts were futile

Oh My God!!! This performance was amazing and very difficult. I actually sat down and tried to sing those notes and they took so much effort to complete. Syesha is AMAZING!!!

This song proved one thing
1) Shes underrated and eventhough simons often right u can tell from the begining the producers told the judges not to make hr win
2) Randy doesnt know what hes talking about
3) Paula is so uselesss that even if shes right it feels like shes just rambling, they need to take out randy and paula and bring in new OBJECTIVE judges.. I was so shocked at this.
Other perfs like vanishing were SPOT ON and they dissed her lol!!!
