The man seems very lucid and clear. I like how he didn't portray himself as "Jim's best friend". His take on Morrison is very balanced & fair. Thanks for posting this!
nice video! i agree totally with Harvey Brooks comments Jim made to much money to soon but when he was sober he was a much nicer person than what some have tried to portray him as... One thing is for sure The Soft Parade is my fav Doors album. And always will be! ;))
happyjoe4ever: ...this Harvey guy? [!!!!!] Man, you have a LOT of homework to do; you will be eternally grateful. You will NOT believe the credits! Rock on..................
Douglas Lubahn was also a key bass player on Doors albums---as a fan going back to the start I often wished they'd just take on a full time bass player, it would have done a lot for their live sound....
interesting. thanks for posting. Harvey's a gracious man, & an honest one. He nailed it, too many sycophants & enablers. to this day, even some the band & the label feed off that trough. Glad to see someone there say it straight. as much as i respect manzarek for his legacy & glue effect he had w/ forming & getting the band on spot. I cant help but be bothered to this day when i he still hypes up the crazed diamond persona of jim for the $. the same hype wh/ has harvey pointed out drowned jim.
I agree with you you and this Harvey guy! He is a wise and tough older guy who speaks the truth. Personally I think Ray has a few demons as well even though this is my take.
this is the kind of history that only people who were there, people who were involved can tell. thanks for keeping the memory of such an artist alive and speaking from the heart. morrison's memory has never perhaps been done justice till now.
I really like the bass work in The Soft Parade song, one of my faves - a work or art and skill no soubt.

"I played in a couple of songs I don't remember"...hehe...This guy should have A LONG career as to not remember what songs he played.

Doug Lubahn is a fabulous bassist who was involved in some of the best Doors recordings.
