  • kuv nyiam zaj no thiab....

cas koj tsis muab peb hmoob nyob sab los tsuas cov nkauj thiab lus coj los tso rau thiab?

  • Who sings the first song?

  • I think we have the clothes of the Hmong (western)....maybe Ill wear to new year next year.....

So they do call themselves Hmong right? and they practice Shamanism and ancestors worship right??

  • @kamichamamink They call themselves different names like Hmu, Ahmao and Qho Xiong. I don't really know if they actually consider themselves Hmong.

  • @AtarashiNOhi

yes they do. Some Qos Xyoob actually called themselves Hmoob Qos Xyoob and do speak Hmong. Some Ahmao are Hmong and the Hmu are Hmong as well. We're all kwv tij.

  • @AtarashiNOhi ...ok....thanks for the information...But this means that the Chinese call them Miao too then...or do they....

  • @kamichamamink Yeah. Basically, anybody who is Hmong is called Miao in Chinese.

  • I THINK IT'S FUNNY THAT EVEN SOME HMONG PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THAT MIAO IS HMONG. WE AS A GROUP JUST DON'T HAVE A COMMON LANGUAGE AS ANY OF THE OTHER ASIAN RACE.

  • I showed my dad this video and the hmong language from different regions in southeast Asian and he said that it sad that we are all hmong but we can not understand eachother anymore.

  • i can't understand any words at all... how sad... ok i understand the last song.. hehehe

  • @nkaujhmoobvwj

haha, I'm just sharing how the different dialects sound like. :)

  • i can't understand any words at all... how sad.

  • @nkaujhmoobvwj That just shows how far we have separated and changed from the Hmong in China. It is very sad indeed. T^T

  • 我喜歡苗族語言。這聽起來非常不同。

  • @mazillo311

    谢谢

  • @niamtxiv

    別客氣。

  • I think the only thing that links Miao and Hmong people together is by the clothes designs, the Qeej (LuSheng), and the circle thing where tons of people goes around, I think during a special day or something. I guess there are more things too but I wouldn't know. If they didn't have those similarities, then they might have consider themselves different races just like the Gejia (Ge Mong). If all the Miao and Hmong have a country, it would be something similar to China & America too.

  • What of the Ahmao group? Which dialect do they fall to?

  • @AtarashiNOhi

    Ab-Hmaob fall within Chuanqiandian...

  • hi i am new to youtube and just wanna say i luv ur vids

  • thank you for posting this up and sharing this with the rest of us. :)

  • MommyDaddy,

Do you have or do you plan on posting a detailed chart of different groups and which branch they fall under? You seem to be the expert of Hmoob Suav thiab 苗族. I could probably look it up myself, but... since you already know, just share the love this once. HAHA! :D

You might have already done so in a previous post... but I couldn't find it. You have way too many videos, man.

  • @hmonguru

    I used to have a chart... I can't find it anymore. =D

  • @niamtxiv

:P What kind of MommyDaddy are you?

  • @hmonguru

lol I hope to be a good mommy and daddy.

  • @hmonguru

    LoL!!! XD

  • Hey, Niamtxiv, do you have the song or clip for the third song? It's soo good because it makes me think of everyone who still lives in China and South East Asia.

  • @archmage235

yes, I will upload it soon.

  • another question. where does the gejia categorize under then?

  • @dededoi

Gejia fall under Qiandongnan because they speak the same dialect as the Hmu.

  • @dededoi okie dokie thanx

  • @dededoi

It was said that long ago, the Gejia spoke very similar to us.... they are known as Xi Miao in old painting because they came from the west and migrated back to Guizhou. There, they live among the large black Miao or Hmu and decided to speak the dialect of the Hmu. The Gejia called themselves Ge Mong.

  • @niamtxiv cool something new i learned

  • growing up in america, i have always thought that we were always a rare race that existed and lived in laos only and have no specific roots or linage. just recently within the last few years my eyes have been opened by videos like these!

  • @moxncal

we have a very long history...... our root originated from the Yangtze and lower Yellow. I'm glad you like it. There are much to learn about the Hmong, history and the various branches of our people.

  • @moxncal yup aren't we just explosively cool

  • @moxncal

Exactly what I said. Thanks to the internet and people's awareness. Ignorance is starting to lift.

  • i have a question, if their are 3 language groups then where do a-hmao g, do they belong with the western language too.

  • @dededoi

yes. The A-Hmao language is basically 95 to 98% similar.

  • @dededoi

A-Hmao/Amu/Amao are very similar and can be understood if you listen carefully. A good example is HmongUniverse's video, search for 9lG0b8DVRM on Youtube. He's Mong Leng, but you can do a comparison and relatively understand what they're saying around the campfire.

  • @jephboy thanx very helpful

  • I like it this give every one a oportunity to think and look at these three groups closely for those who never heard of chuanqiandian is very closely related to hmong so these are songs you can related to it would be great if niamtxiv could put in a actual sentence from each language and compare it this will give subsribers chance to compare the laguage I think niamtxiv would like this idea it would be his next project the difference from deep accent chuagiandian to the accent we speak now

  • @txivnengshaman

you can click onto my page and see three top videos on my favorite list..... you can compare the three and see how similar they are. =) thank you.

  • nice song Thanks

  • What???? You mean to say Hmong people aren't all from Laos, speak Hmong Dawb, and drive in over-packed Honda Civic hatchbacks (I love the Civic, btw.)?

I'm just kidding, of course. Hmong peepz need to expand their horizon and learn more about their roots and appreciate/accept their kinsfolk. There is more to being Hmong than just living or having lived in Laos or going to the Fresno New Year, because that's very narrow minded and neglects several thousand years of history and kinship.

  • @jephboy

You are so silly jephboy. =D

I've seen lots of ignorance in many Hmong youths. I've seen lots of ignorance being taught by Hmong professors. I'm very disappointed. lol

  • very beautiful songs. makes me wanting to be in China with my people. :(
