dude it's 1912 not 1913. And, I'm pretty sure that they do respect the accident like JAmes Cameron did when he had Murdock commit suicide. His surviving family members were appauled by it. JAmes sent them a letter explaining that he thinks of Murdock as a hero of the night. Then they agreed to let him have that clip i n the film.
