  • That's a nice piece of home-made kit mate. I made a similar one using fibre glass tent poles and totally nicked your idea about holes drilled in the stock, and it worked out ok. Good effort lad

  • its like ray-gun sound inn slowmotion

  • How long did this take?

  • hows the trigger work

  • mine goes farther...AND IT USES A DAMN RUBBERBAND! no offence but that thing sucks

  • needs work don't it???

  • BARK

  • you know the part that holds the string that shoots the arrow does it matter if it is flexible?

  • ... i know a good kind of steel... it's flexibile enough for the crossbow to shoot an arrow for about 100 mts

  • i have some metal and it isnt really that flexible

any tips on how i can amake it more flexible?

  • Yo TOny Nice work man!

  • Hello Jone

  • you could probly mak it stronger my using metal or aluminum instead of wood

  • Alluminium isent really flexible.

  • u need a target to shoot at to show the crossbow works well, but other than that its realy impressive

  • thats so cool see my crossbow at dillweed1992, type it in at the search

  • /fail

  • youll want the hole thing to look like an ice cream cone that nobody would want lol.... good vid and bow

  • ill add my insite the size doesnt really matter in a way it is the distance from where ur gun makes the t or cross(hints the crossbow lol)to the string lock or trigger......an efective and strong shooting is to have a slight bend on where the string is conected and to have the string already pretty tight and to have a distance from the cross to the trigger the same length as the peace where the string is conected.........<(---

  • your turning into van helsing! nice crossbow!

  • Can you Please Make A Tutorial? :D

    Its Awesome!!!!

  • nice crossbow

  • which materialdid you use for the arc itself?

i'm constructing a crossbow an an part of my graduation please respond

  • well, since you said please :) the bow was made from fiberglass rods from a gardening store. generally used to support growing tomato plants, about 36 inches long. i drilled holes of an equal size thru the stock and the rods were slid thru. not a bad setup, two things to watch out for: 1. if a rod starts to split in the middle, its done, dont try to keep using it because of 2. if one arm breaks, the other arm is still under tension. think about the vectors and where your neck is. good luck man.

  • @tonedizzle6289 nice. I made my prods out of the same stuff. After some experimentation, I've found that the rods last MUCH longer (indefinitely, really) if you cover them with a piece of automotive--usually power steering hose that has been sliced down one side. Drill the holes in your stock large enough to accept the rods encased in these, and the prods are not only protected, but the crossbow is much quieter, has less vibration, and less recoil.

  • @metalMRY fiberglass rods for supporting plants, you can get them at most lawn and garden stores

  • loger heavier arrows = 4 times the distance/power.

    Great crossbow

  • how do you make hat?!

  • tast like shit

  • what a joke, my pen-made one had better range and accuracy than that shit

  • im guessing this took more skill, effort, and time to make. and come on, you're comparing a pen crossbow to this real size beast?

  • Why? because size matters?

I got even 6 cm high bows that shoots toothpicks up to 50 meters. The power depending on the scale matters dude, check medieval crossbows, this one shoots 20 meters afar not more and they normally can go up to an average range of 300 m.

  • ok.

    I guess i concede.

I assumed a normal scale crossbow would require more effort than a "pen-made crossbow" but you've proved me wrong.

  • Well it depends, rubberbands is a reliable core power, because it's powerfull and cheap. You've seen all the kids shooting real scale crossbows with ruberbands. While the use of elasticity of wood is less reliable,etc...But you see it all depends where and what and how big you could say it's good or not.I got a crossbow the same size as this one with an iron bow in front and it shoots practically the same.Shit is not the words for these crossbows, because they do have the advantage of bigger momentum

  • Lies

  • the limbs Almost look like fiberglass fence posts

  • crossbow isn't bad, but yo need better arrows..

  • what did u use for the bow blades ? they look like corbon fiber ...

  • that can't be homemade its justa cheaply bought one that can't do long distance

  • haha, thats actually quite complimentary, but i did really build this and the newer version took care of the range issue

  • That's sick. How long did this take you? Ever gone hunting?

  • Took me a few weeks to get to this stage, between school and work. This was my third version. Being that I can never leave anything alone, its stained now, with a rachet draw, near 200 pound pull....oh ya, and it's got a scope.......

  • And no, I haven't been hunting, but I'd bet it'd blow a moose clean in half.....

  • man.. u should do really homemade/traditional or u shud just buy limbs, strings, triggers and stuff and put together. a medieaval with scope socks ;) i prefer traditionals. try makin a chu-ko-ni repeating crossbow, thats fun. gl with your bows!

  • make a tutriol plz its looks awesome

  • holy crap dude that looks frekain sweetness

  • hey mate would you be able to show us your trigger setup in the upcoming video i've been struggling with mine

  • no problem. as soon as the weather cooperates, we will have the competition and ill put the video on here. my trigger is very simple and works well for pulls you can pull back without levers. i havent seen my friend's crossbow yet, but apparently his trigger is totally different, so you'll be able to see both.

  • considering it is home made, not bad! :D

  • Five stars dude:)

  • thanks alot man, i appreciate it

  • Icic, wat is the longest dis u had fired?

  • it should do 50 meters now without a problem, i about doubled the power

  • Wat is the bow made of anyway?

  • in another day and age, it wouldve made a great school project. its a wooden frame, tastefully jigsaw-ed to the shape i wanted, the trigger is a simple pushrod acutated by a lever and the bow itself is fiberglass rods meant to hang tomato plants. i mounted a rachet draw system yesterday, its pretty cool.

  • Dang nice woodwork mate. Did u do it for a sch project or is it jus a friendly compeition againest ur friend?

  • Great crossbow!!Does it have a fibre glass lamination?

  • Thanks, actually it uses fiberglass rods that I got from a gardening store, they're meant to hang tomato plants. It's all part of a competition I'm having with my friend who I designed the forge and trebuchet with, if you haven't check out those videos too. I'll be postin the crossbow competition/grudge match video soon too.

  • please!, tell me how is it made(i mean the matterials), sorry about my english.

  • That is so awesome!!

great craftsmanship! I am envious. :)
