@Adys301 I looked at the Roland Cube and it just doesn't hold a candle to this sound wise. The Micro Cube has like a 5 inch speaker, so to me it doesn't pack as much of a punch than this beast. When I palm mute on this I get pretty good chug, when I palm mute on the Cube, it's just tinny.
This piece of box really is a shit! I recently got a rig with my ESP LTD M-10 and, it sounded so worst x( I currently replaced it with a Hughes Kettner xP
Guys dont get this amp! Get the Peavey vypyr 15! Same price! But it has a way bigger speaker and it has an inbuilt processor, 12 Presets, Twelve World Renowned amp models, 12 rack effects to!! Its awesome! Best amp ever! Do a little research on that! Played the marshal mg15DFX and it sucked! So just imagine the mg10! Peavey Vypyr Series all the way! Im a beginner and i love my peavey!
i've had this amp for a couple of months, and suddenly i messed with the contour thing, and i cant remember what the setting was >.< i've tried messing with it, bu nothing sounds right. anyone got basic contour adjustments according to bands or musical genres? thanks in advance, btw, im looking for something a bit like Avenged Sevenfold..

I Personally have this amp and im in love with it. You can turn the gain up slightly and get a good Grainy sound, or you can crank the gain all the way up and get a nice dirty metal sound. i love this amp
Ok people! you guys are forgetting the whole point of this amp. This amp is mainly for beginners and people who are learning to play. Not targeted to people who have been playing for many years like some of you. Don't get this amp and expect to have a JVM series tube head quality that is 100 watts in the head plus whatever the watts are in the cabinent you so choose of when it's a 10 watt solid state. It's also for practice too. Not for recording and definitely not for live gigs. Get real guys.
the marshall mg 10 is shitty the overdrive after 5 minutes of playing , well you can hear the clean sound and then the overdrive really messesd up sound , it sounds good untill you get use to it, I regret buying it, I think that you would need a really expensive guitar it would then sound good, but i doubt it,its crud. I rock an ibanez get a line 6 or anthying else if your going to use the overedrive channel
@ARE190 on my ibanez gio it sounds like crap also .. i'm not sure which settings i should give the guitar to sound reasonable together with the amp. the overdrive channel is really not nice either. i should have gotten a fender amp instead
@ARE190 that's not true! i have this amp and a dean vendetta xm(a very cheap guitar, but good) and it sounds perfect to me, and i play metal^^ maybe it's from ur guitar, cos most of the guitars come with problems from the factory.. i.e the mass mine had that problem and was buzzing hard, but when i resolved that it worked very good. u don't need an expensive guitar, maybe a good one.

@AnUnexplainable i got mine just last night for only $80.00 it's a great amp and comes with a 5 year warrenty. So i would buy it and recomend it to you.
@topicbird Hahaha, what question is that, of course , you can play it on every amp, the point is the settings you have, and the marshall I don't think it's a good brand for playing metallica, they play hard rock or classic rock very nice, but heavy gain won't be good. So just save up 30 more bucks and get a Fender Mustang I on that you can play metallica, it even has effects. So I'll recomend you the fender mustang, hope it helped.

My God, thank you SOOO MUCH for this video. I have been looking for a good practice amps for about 3 weeks now, I think I am going with this one~!!!! I just love the brand name, so was not sure about other products with 15 w / 30 / even.... this is all I need for my home practice.
@komputerjeanyus Wow, you are anything BUT a "jeanyus"! The amp is "mic'd" for the video. If you put a mic somewhere else (including cameras with low quality built-in mics) in the room, you DON'T hear the true sound. If you don't believe me, watch any of the videos of people playing in their bedrooms and you'll notice that no matter how good of an amp they have it sounds lame. I have the MG10 as a practice/warm up amp and I get the same sounds out of it that this guy is getting. @BotzAk Vox? ha!
That's why my Clean doesn't sound like it's clean, because for my I always have the volume half way. But that's an awesome distortion setting, I have to admit that.. I'm saving up for the Marshall MG15 Amplifier.

He gets those sounds at those settings because he has that amp mic'd up. Kind of cheat of a review if you ask me.
I have this amp and is good for practice in your apartment or house. If you mic'd it into a mixer you could play really small place like a coffee house. Great for a practice amp or someone just starting out - you could spend an extra $40 and get a Line 6 Spider 15 or Peavy Vypr 15.

i have this amp for about a year now and until now i didnt know that after mid way the clean channel gives some crunch...thats because this is very loud and in bedroom level ..i never went more than 1-1.5!!!!
Damn i have this amp maybe half a year and i can say it is brilliant option for house playing. However i also sounds good at a small gig , distortion sounds grat but clean on 7/10 power sounds pretty crappy, because to high bass. But this is 10W not 100W and it is made to play in home or on a trip with friends ( 5 -7 kilo weight ? ). I recomend this amp.
PS I like MG series ( sorry im a new guitarist and unfortunately i didn't played Valvestate or TSL ) and im going to buy a new Mg 30 fx :)

1) it has NO 'breakup' at clean channel (even though i have a high o/p bridge humbuck)
2)overdrive channel is EXTREMELY noisy at 1-1.5 volume (which i use at my apartment)... forget 3/4 volume and full gain !
