You can basically build any item to any champion, as long as you know the mechanics of the character and the game. It should work out fine. I've done tank Caitlyn, Dodge Zeal Rammus, Tank Ashe, Attack Speed Kennen, Attack Speed Annie, Attack Speed Zilean, etc...

I just built a tanky annie: build was start with saph crystal, build into catalyst, get merc treads, get neg cloak(was facing malz at mid),built rabadons deathcap, build abyssal scepter, build banshees, build warmogs, get thornmail...and youre done! you get over 200 AR and MR, 3.5k hp and can still hit pretty damn hard (360ish AP)
