  • 1:17 to 1:22 "You will never win, you cannot destroy my plan!" WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!

  • To bad cartoons dont look this smooth and good these days

  • Dr. wertham is a total dumbass

  • that looked like a weiner by lois lane in 4:15

  • Storm Troopers in Germany? So all this time the Sith and the Nazis were working together!

  • massive cock 04:11

  • the fucked up senate in 50s propably read comic books themselves under the night sheets...bastards.

  • Joe Simon must have a cameo in the next Captain America movie.

  • I thought red skull represented communis, which btw more died under than nazism, and most people don't touch the japs. There seems to be a touch of pc in these interviews.

  • @TitaniumByFire maybe the people conducting these interviews weren't reactionary idiots like you?

  • why did everyone sound so funny back then it sounds like they talk with their nose pinched

  • Would someone checkout 4:12 into this segment. That is all I will say other than I fell out of the chair!!!!!

  • @cobaltxxxfusion OK! So I know I am not going crazy LOL,

  • " Wanting to go to Germany and beat the hell out of storm troopers"

    What

  • While in Japan, Superman fought Goku and won

  • red skull's face @ 00:41haha!

  • I love taht cap. animation! it's really cheap but still better than the stuff right now.

  • 1:05 Stupid Krauts, should have thought to kneecap him instead of shooting at his shield. That's why we won the war.

  • 7:16 That's not a monster, that's a muppet!

  • damn that scenes when superman fights the asians really made me laugh.look at thier jaws hahahaha that was really a time of prejudices

  • it is really interesting that the same thing happened to the Hong Kong comic industry in about that same period of time. There were a lot of sex and violent in the Hong Kong comics and comic industry came under the attack of the Hong Kong government. Then the comic artists of Hong Kong got together to establish some guild lines on what can be shown on comics.

  • 4:17 his penis lol xD

  • Funny how authorities and "people who know" like doctors, psychologists etc always have critics towards people's outlets.

Like, in the '50's it was comics. In the '60's it was Elvis and rock music in general. In the 70's and 80's it was music AGAIN. With artists like Prince, Madonna, Zappa and Judas Priest being called "porn rock" by the PMRC and others, which led to a series of courtsessions. In the 90's it was music again, and nowadays they attack video games.

  • @Eekhoornhoer Your Wrong. Elvis was the 50's. Drugs in the 60's 70s and 80s Music wasnt Under attack until the late 80s. And it wasnt just Rock music.... Mr john denver aswell. Also judas priest's court case was over the death of fans who alledely killed themselves after hearing their songs. The pmrc was a different situation

  • @kraigus Well for the Elvis part you are right, since it was the 50's. But if you'd read my post again, you'd see I don't only mention "rock" music. And if the PMRC was a different situation altogether, that depends on ones view of things. Don't be so quick to judge concerning who is right or wrong. What matters is the core of the problem; the fact that the establishment continues to waste their resources on matters that don't need parenting.

  • Man, they misspelled Senate in the title 8:35. Lot of spelling and grammatical errors in those so far. The documentary itself is great, but could of used a little more care in spell checking.

  • 4:13

    really?!

    its just obvious.

  • Hey Banned Cinema, why don't you wise up with your reckless attack by crying racism and Eurocentrism and whining. that it was the norm . Is'nt it amazing that cultural marxist has the freedom to spew venom such as you.

  • These comics were made before political correctness sissified us.

  • No, they were made back when Eurocentrism and racism were the norm.

Saying political correctness has "sissified us" is like saying putting an end to slavery has decreased work ethic.

  • 3:02-are you thinking what I'm thinking..yeah. HAHA couldn't help myself.

    Robin likes it.

  • 0:08

    rapist &

    child

  • cool,im going to go check out that capt. america cartoon now but first this show then that cartoon.=D

  • the red skull was a lot more scary in the comics.he cartoon made him seem wierd

  • @JiMMyJaM08061991 His voice didn't fit and he had no accent.

  • Lol phallic cannons.

  • Captain America sounds like a Native American Red Indian Chief in that cartoon. "He can't escape me now, not when I have come so close" LOL

  • Captain america cartoon looks like shit compared to old Superman Cartoon. Lol.

  • That's limited tv animation versus full motion theatrical animation.

  • 4:13 XD

  • Superman beating the crap out of the Japanese...You won't see much of that anymore.

  • I love comic books, but yes, some comics are pretty sick.

  • "aim for the shield"

  • lmfao!

  • I'd like to point out that the Senate sub-committee on Juvenile Delinquency found nothing substantial linking comics to juvenile crime. The Comic Code Authority was design by the top comic publishers, lead by National(now DC Comics, who was also the national distributor of comics at the time), to essentially get rid of Crime and Horror comics specifically those made by EC Comics, which was cutting into their business.

  • The Comic Code Authority was created as a preventive measure to keep the politicians from making rules for the publishers. The fact that EC Comics was driven more or less out of business was just icing on top. Ironically Mad magazine the last vestige of EC is now owned by Time Warner which also owns DC Comics. So it's one big happy family again (sort of)

  • I find it weird that Superman was anti-war and anti-corruption and now he says let's go to war!

  • lol the red skull.

  • ok, sort of makes sense now.

was he supposedly a commie spy. can you give a link for further info?

  • i apologise but i think i'm not the only one whose misunderstood your intention. but even as a question, it seems a bit (to say the least) insensitive and doesn't make sense.

  • What a horrible thing to say!

Why on earth would you put that as a comment.

  • this thing rocks! thanks.

  • This documentary's awesome it's cool to see all your favorite comic artists

  • I think the reason they cant fight Bin Laden is because no matter how many times you arrest/beat up someone in the comicbook world he is still at large in the real world. Also it makes kids think "If Batman or Spiderman can catch this guy why can the soldiers?" I think superheroes stay out of the war today so the soldiers stay the heroes and to avoid unintentionally insulting the American forces.

  • There's also the racial aspect of it. It's like when superheroes fought in WWII against the "Chinks" and "Japs" and "Fangs" and "Buckteeth". Such a thing doesn't work as well now in the modern world.

  • Captain America

    is a: busy fighting skrulls.

B: i think fighting wars that we should not be fighting in the first place i mean really i have no problem if we flew over there and said "hey we think you have deadly weapons we are going to look to make sure were safe" is what we should have done now stop reading this incredbly long sentences

  • no one sympathies with bin laden it just that it can lead to attacks on innocent Muslims who are born and reared in America

it has happened before during in the cold war in nyc russian immigrants were attacked

we have to be careful sometimes some people just dont get it wats in a comicbook isnt real

  • Well then they should go and live in their own country,

    it makes sense...

  • In those days Captain America, Superman, Namor, the Original Human Torch (i.e. the android, not the douche kid), Sgt. Fury, etc. were not really comics, they were nacionalistic propaganda. The scary part is they **had** to be over-the-top propaganda, or else their creative teams would have been accused of being traitors, you know, "ratzi spys", "pinko commies", "terrorist lovers"...

    ...or "psycho leeberals"

  • comics expand the imagination, heighten the intelligence, and are like cartoons that make you THINK!!

HOW COULD ANYONE SAY THEY'RE CORRUPT?

  • that rule is so freakin stupid!

  • RIP

    captain america

  • This Senator sounds alike another dumbass, rhymes with Jackass

  • kefauver and wertham...hope they are both burning in hell...they set back literacy in america...if you get a chance to buy reprints of any pre code comics, especially ec, do so...the art and the stories are amazing, and dont forget to read the letters sections, where the readers are treated as adults

  • Excellent! Thanks for posting.

  • JACK KIRBY MADE MARVEL and the new kids of comics need to know it. Kirby was clearly not just drawing Stan's ideas. THE FACTS: Kirby joins Marvel and shortly after, they have a thousand new and inventive characters. Kirby leaves Marvel and creates an entire universe of characters for D.C., many of which are still huge. Stan, at this time, QUITS WRITING. Jack comes back to Marvel and creates more characters that are still quite big. The facts are undeniable. Stan was GREAT but JACK WAS THE KING.

  • better proof is, how many lasting characters did lee create when kirby left marvel? answer....none...

  • what about spiderman with steve ditko

  • after kirby left marvel....kirby and ditko worked at marvel at the same time...

  • ohhh sorry ahhh then ill go with nobody
