@fighterdude83 unlike the leopard and lion the cheetah will retreat from human adults. usually with a growl and even a mock charge many times. in the attacks that do occour death is by vast majorty not the outcome as their jaws are relatively week and their claws build for running more than fighting. you put your hands around a cheetahs throat and begin choking it, or eye poking it out of instinct and it will break free and end the attack. lions and leopards can pin humans better

@Vesterskovvej ....well they can be in danger when they stop the chase without catching the pray because alot of energy being spent on it.... but without a "catch" there is very little possibility to restore this energy. there are many cases of cheetah die if happened to have few failed hunts in a row ...

Wow! A successful hunt is so fucking intense to watch... but only like 1 in 6 hunts are successful so you gotta give the gazelle the credit cause, only they can run away from cheetahs.

whether its running to eat breakfast or not it still chases the gazelle with all it can. It stops cause it is tired. Cheetahs can only run at that speed for like 8 seconds while the gazelles can last a bit longer. so its fair to assume the gazelle does out maneuver the cheetah

Wow that gazelle was running for its life alright. For one moment I thought that the cheetah was not going to cath it but luckily for it the gazelle tripped so the cheetah caught it.

unfortunately the cheetah is horribly inbred, and it's lack of genetic variability makes it at high risk sustaining population sizes. The less diverse it's DNA, the less likely it is to adapt to changes in the environment.

1. It dosent have perminently extended claws! Its more complicated. The cheetahs claws retract, but they dont have any sheet of skin covering them. So they are semi-retractable

2. Its not the ONLY cat that has such claws. There are 3 other cat spiecies! Flat headed cat, fishing cat Iriomote Cat

nope - look it up. The cheetahs claws retract like those of other cats, but they dont have the sheet that covers them. Deffinetley not like a dog. And also - cheetahs do not have muscular legs. Their legs are lean. The majority of a cheetahs muscle mass is packed up on its spine. The speed comes from the spine, not from the legs.
