@TheLordCod I dont have it in much detail, but I will upload 2 videos - 1 of brett lee's fastest ball and another of a short video of shoaib akthar's action.
@B04Jordan Actually it doesnt matter, if you get the hip thrust right and your foot doesnt come very much off the ground, whether its just a couple inches above ground or wears out your shoe in one test doesnt matter.
Great video but in terms of lines and angles and follow through, wouldn't it be slightly better to analyse Binga going over the wicket rather than round?
I think you will find the back foot drag is a hangover from the days of the old no-ball rule....which is why guys like Larwood tested it to the nth degree with their back foot drag
@aaqucnaona94 : It's a shame he's quit test cricket though.. Will always be a great ODI bowler & be remembered less for his exploits at the test level..You've got a nice channel man..Love the Who wants to be a millionaire fail video :)
@vickridge1497 Thats true. You are one of the few who knows it. I amazing how many INTERNATIONAL players dont have a complete chest drive or lift their back leg or bend the front foot and so on - they are happy with 120s I guess.
@mtayyab071 Almost doubled now - coz its now top video on video search of lee's action. Also bcoz i have started a compilations and a magic secrets series.
His main asset is his balance. By leaning so far back after a high jump, and then transferring all the weight forward, it gives him incredible momentum. Combine that with a cocked wrist, still head, and a straight balanced follow through, and you've got a 90+mph delivery.
To generate that kind of pace, he must have very strong hands. If some one else would try that at not such a young age, they would "lose" their arm. Lee started at the age of 10
@rorschach2992 No, its not about the hands. Fast bowling has a lot more to do with technique than strenght. Look up 'the fast bowlers bible by ian pont' its very useful if you want to know more about fast bowling.
See his low arm when he leaps. That's how he generates so much pace. He has a very strong arm. He's probably the quickest bowler action. Shoaib Akhtar and Shaun Tait have shoulder action.
.
.
In short, Brett Lee's the better "fast" bowler.
.
.
.
But the best fast pace bowler were/are Wasim Akram and Waqar zyounis. No one can do what they did during their prime
great video - any chance of seeing dale steyn's action? he's the number 1 seamer in the world with a pretty smooth action, seems like a good an action as any to copy.
Some have suggested that Brett Lee's action has been suspect in some of his deliveries. Even Lee himself admitted that he felt as if he threw the ball on some occasion. I would agree. But, 99% of his deliveries have been fine.
@WorldSacred Yes. There are a few occassions of that sort. But when one is trying to bowl over 95mph consistently after already having bowled a long spell with a hot sun on your back for 2 innings, I guess chucking would almost be a reflex, being tired and all. Every bowler in this world would have chucked sometimes, I unavoidable - pressure and stress, tiredness, frustration and a lot of factors would play a part. But still, hes a great bowler - gotta give him that.
@counterstrike4u Its his action. Its very difficult to find a decent video if brett lee's action from front, side and angled views; all three are shown here. Also, the speed is changing, so that the rhythm, technique and effort can be better understood. The aim is to understand what is it in his action that has allowed him to bowl or 90 mph for the last decade and half. This may help upcoming and amateur fast bowlers can improve their own actions.
How about a slow motion of Jeff Thomson's action. Arguably the quickest bowler of all time.

Shaun Tait's got raw pace. Instead of criticizing him, if senior players would help him, that would be much better.
But being an Indian, why should give beneficiary advice to Australians ?!! :P
Their loss, they could not capitalize on such a potent bowler.
Brett Lee might help him out
