  • STEPHEN KING

    UNDER THE DOME!!!!!!

  • Baby, you're so hot!!! will you read to me?

  • we have surprisingly similar taste in books.

either i've read or have marked to-read all the books you read this year.

i'm proud to say i'm already at 50 books for this year and it's only july :)

  • omg!! how did you do it? I can't read 50 books for one year. I can't even finish one. You're good!!!

  • Hi! I just recently found your videos, and I think they're awesome. So, I subscribed! I'm not a very fast reader. Don't get me wrong. I read well, and I have great comprehension. I just don't read very fast. I'm also in college, so I don't have as much time to read as I'd like. With that in mind, my book goal for the summer is 10 books, but hopefully, I'll get through more than 10. I can't wait to see which books you read for 2010, so I hope you show us in December!

  • Promise me to read "This book will save your life" By a.m. Homes!

  • umm Hunger Games killss all bookss

    i luv <33333

  • @ThatGirlMichelleX Amen to that. :)

  • yes love you i hate tvd i love book but i read like half and i was like no thanx next

  • Russel Brand is hilarious. I just finished My Sister's Keeper and I gotta tell you, I was literally shocked out of my pajamas by the ending. (Because it was a little after midnight and I couldn't put it down.) You have a pretty nice book-list, not that I'm judging because I'm not, just making small-talk :) I think I read a little over seventy books in 2009, and even though I tried to, I didn't manage to get The Time Travelers Wife on it :( But cross your fingers for this year!

  • @catchup1999 I know, the ending of My Sister's Keeper was intense. When I loaned it to my Mom, she returned it with a note reading, "This book is SICK. Why didn't you warn me about that ending??"

Congratulations on 70 books! And let me know what you think of TTW :)

  • Sweet. I finished 50 video games.

  • @fingerdrop Now that's something I could *never* accomplish. I don't have the patience for video games - too lazy to figure out all the secrets.

  • lol

  • Great reading year! :)

  • "...by that baronness whose name I can't pronounce." - LOL! You're hilarious.

  • I remember last year's when you were reading A Great and Terrible Beauty. :D

I read Notes from a Small Island too. I love reading other people's perception of Britain. hehe

I read 50 books this year too! I'm gonna do a video response to you, hun, so prepare yourself for ultimate geekiness! hehe

  • @cezzie901 I love Bill Bryson. I read it while I was in Britain, and his description of the Vodaphone-man on the train is perfect.

And I'm still waiting on that video response!! I can't wait to see it :)

  • Hey Jess!

My favorite book of the past year would have to be The Time Traveler's Wife.

The biggest letdown was probably Evermore by: Alyson Noel.

I'd love to read one book a week, and I'd also love to revisit some of my old favorites like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, etc.

  • My favourite book I read this year was Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips.

It was one of those books that I was sad I was finishing!

My book goal this year- 30

  • Wow, we read a lot of the same books!

My faves this year were Brideshead Revisited, The Woman in White, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

Biggest wastes of time were Swimming and The Virgin Blue.

I read Memory and Dream based on your rec' and loved it :) so thanks!

I finished 100 this year so I'm gonna take a bit of a break. I think my goal is going to be to finish a bunch of books that I've only read part of. I'm always dropping books if they get boring, but I think it's a bad habit.

  • So what's up with Lady of the Forest by Jennifer Roberson? I want to know what that reaction is about, lol.

I can't wait to read The Book Theif this year as part of my 50 books! I'm doing the challenge for the first time, yay!

And also, what are your thoughts on City of Bones, Ashes, and that series?

    Thanks!

  • @MonBon211 Lady of the Forest was a decent book, but the Harlequin romance-esque cover is a little embarrassing (and misleading, since it's very tame).

I love Cassandra Clare's "Mortal Instruments" series. They're hilarious and angsty and exciting ... everything I want in a YA series.

Anyway, good luck with the 50 books challenge!

  • between december 25, 2009 and december 25, 2010 my goal is to read 100 books. Im already done 11

  • @bookmouse99 You are amazing <3

  • @JessiEvaS Well I got a ton of books for christmas, so I figured I should try and make some kind of goal...

  • @bookmouse99 haha You're the only person I know that could set a goal like that and actually accomplish it :)

  • @JessiEvaS I will probably slack once school starts, so I am trying to get a head now. Debating making videos about my favourite books that I read.

  • @bookmouse99 Do it!!!

  • i read the awaking also this year and it was a waste of my time too. I guess i kept reading just to see what happens! Book Thief is dffntly nxt on my list!! Oh and welcome bck Jess! ive been waiting for another one of these!!! Have a great 2010!! thanks for the recommendations!

  • I love hearing a book list and realizing I've read at least half the books myself. Makes me smile. But as for a recomendation for 2010, I would have to say Villians By Necessity by Eve Foreward. That book was really really great.

  • John G hasn't read for fun in months! I'll definitely get going sometime this summer. I use your book lists as a list of recommendations. :P

  • @lolihateliars Yikes, I wouldn't necessarily use this entire list. Just because I read it doesn't mean I liked it ;)

Have you read Guy Kay? You would like him.

  • You should read some John Green, I'm reading Paper Towns, and loving it!

  • @AKChronicles Isn't John Green wonderful? I read Paper Towns when it came out last year, and it was amazing. I can't wait for "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" later this year!

  • You only read fiction?

    Happy new year.

  • @prep4md I usually enjoy fiction more, but not all the books on this list are fiction :)

  • @JessiEvaS sorry there were so many i lost track! BTW I am reading The Time Travelers Wife because of you!

  • @prep4md That's awesome! Let me know what you think of it when you're finished :)

  • Try for 52 this year. One a week. Read some short books. :-D

  • @Mjhavok haha I'll see what I can do ;)

  • Good books I read this year...

    Paper Towns by John Green

The Tenth Circle and My Sisters Keeper both by Jodi Picoult

    Spanking Shakespeare by Jake Wizner

Life of Pi by Yann Martel

and Rock Me Gently by Judith Kelly

    Waste of my time...

Every book in the Twilight saga. I think I'll stick to Harry Potter thanks :)

  • @HatsAreWe Ooh! I've been meaning to read Life of Pi for years! ... And I agree, nothing could ever beat Harry Potter for me :)

  • Awesome^^ I actually followed your example this past year and made the goal to read 50 in a year and ended up reading 56. My goal this year is to try and make it to sixty. XD

  • @Stephychan0 Wow, that's awesome! Good job :D
