@autopolydidact: In case you weren't being facetious: "stage-workers" have been unionized for well over a century (google IATSE). But they have zero pull with set designers (whose own 100+-yr-old union, United Scenic Artists, was recently incorporated into IATSE -- but whose decisions, in terms of WHAT they design, are decidedly not based on any hiring quota). If "scaffolding" sets are trendy, it's because designers are attracted to the look, not because of some surplus of metalworkers.
Very nice video. I am lost, by what you chose to present of your production in this preview, as to how you communicate the story to the audience. Do you divert from the body of the script and totally rely only on the words and music? From what I see, not greatly into this interpretation.
@ajt141 Any audience can testify that an engaging set makes them more receptive. Fantastic posteriors supported by strong performances are phenomenal.

This staging makes sense... it's kinda fairground-y. Can't tell if it'd get in the way of the story.
Although I do have a suspicion that scaffolders are the only stage-workers yet to unionise. RENT, n2n. They just go crazy.

With production values like this, no wonder California's budget is in such terrible shape

About to direct this show in South Africa, thought I was being all innovative by having a scaffolding set. Blown away by this video!!

Goddamn! It looks like they made the show seriously tech heavy. Not that it is bad, but they've upped the creep factor by ten.
Sheesh.

This production was amazing! I was fortunate enough to have been in the audience and to have one of the cast as an instructor.
Thank you so much for posting this video!
