He became his best friend, his equal, his perfect enemy . He wanted to stay with him forever but at the same time to fight him as an equal.. So when he died he was so disappointed he lost his mind... This has been confusing me, but what Light was thinking just before Rem killed L, was 'Misa's already shortened her life now, you can't give up on her now.' Buuut, didn't Misa and Light change Shinigami's? meaning, the life went to Light?

And also, I thought that, a Shinigami could only kill ONE person, then they die, but Rem managed to kill Watari AND L. Help? L said he already wrote his name down, but even if he did, why didn't the story writers mention anything about it?

If Misa didn't exist then Gelus wouldn't have died to save her, Rem wouldn't have gone to Earth to give her the notebook, Misa and Rem wouldn't have met Light, and Rem wouldn't have been pressured by Light to kill L to save Misa. ._.

At that point he should have focussed on stopping Kira, instead of catching him. It's confusing because he knew he was going to die.
