Have the deaths occured while jaywalking? I've heard of a few pedestrian deaths, but those were all in crosswalks. Rexburg PD has curbed the jaywalking problem but now there is a higher percentage of people using a more dangerous part of the road, the crosswalk.
Rexburg PD should now focus on ticketing pedestrians and drivers alike who practice unsafe behavior at a crosswalk intersection.
Only because the Rexburg PD has relatively little to do, and judging by the conditioning on those bad boys, Jaywalkers are targets because they are easy to catch.
Look at this FAT SO COP, They work hard, that is how they all get this huge belly. But I would appreciate a good beating if I was to Jay walk, and if I was walking with my wife and kids, a good Cop should give us all a good kick in the face so we don't do that again, cause hey I was born to follow the 1, 383,987 rules and if I do not know the rules, ignorance of the "Law" is not a defense, thank you Judge, give me my beating I deserve it, thanky you sir, ah! ah! ah!
No, car drivers have enough to worry about, they shouldn't have to worry about lazy ass jaywalkers. Jaywalkers out there just stop, your annoying, causing unnecessary stress and showing truly how lazy you really are. If there is a crosswalk 10 yards away USE IT! If there is a light WAIT, patience is a virtue and 30 seconds is not going to kill ya. I think jaywalking really should be more enforced, and fined highly $100 to $150. Its like the cops said " a pedestrian verses a car, car will win".

Rexburg seems pretty obsessed with jaywalking. Meanwhile a girl got hit by a car on July 1st...at a crosswalk!

i have had more scares of getting hit by a car when using a crosswalk than when i would with jaywalking. i just look both ways before crossing.
