Thats why I like so much Marty friedman. I love Yngwees style of playing, his technique is perfect. But I also love some Zakk Wylde licks and emotion. I think that a guitar player that has emotion, style, technique and some speed is the best one. A mixture of those 3 guitarists for me is the best of the world.
I don't like to think of scales as laws. Don't just limit yourself to what you know theoretically makes sense. If you consider chromatics scales, every note is in a scale. It's how you comply with the chords underneath the scales that makes the song. When people say he only plays scales they probably mean he just does fast runs ascending or descending in (up and down- meh). Which he does a lot. Never the less, I still love a lot of Yngwie's stuff

He was the YOungest and learned all their instruments ...Then after playing Violin up to age 10 he picked up guitar and put what he knew onto guitar . It's titled lesson part two; here's a master of neo-classical guitar playing, not some radom playing C C D D E E G "well done!" @McMinnManiac My apology. I just think Yngwie and many 'close ended' players like blues players miss out on the potential of guitar. I mean, why confine yourself to pentatonic scales while you can have more fun and challenge your creativity by going 'outside' like jazz players do. There are so many things we can do with the guitar than lightning-fast scale stunts. I assume this what Marty Friedman thought when he said 'he could not develop as a musician' by playing strictly metal.

@verboten Cool, okay ,i see what you mean ..Friedman will do anything but a predictable cadence.Maybe even Cycle they key a minor third up , instead of resolving on the 1 chord . Where as malmsteen is a formula song writer .ABAB interlude C Interlude AB End that's pretty much The Blackmore formula. Dimeola is said to play Vamps and progressive riffs ,not quite the standard Jazz approach . It's a more modern approach to not cadence,and keep moving . We can't just say Amen,and end it these days

STOP SAYING THIS VIDEO IS JUST TO SHOW OFF!!!! It is a lesson, just not for beginners! Why would he spend hours and hours to teach a beginner his licks one note at a time? They would just learn it slow, try to play it fast, fail, and quit playing guitar. Take some time and practice something POSSIBLE until you can handle learning in the style he is teaching here.

Has a teacher ever said why should i teach you? some teachers won't teach beginners . Years ago I had a teacher called Kevin Gallagher now he has a Masters degree .Today i wouldn't be able to afford him LOL I had aJazz teacher he hated everything he could write charts off the top of his head he knew Dimeola

God, when i first heard Demon Driver and its solo it brought me to tears. He will always inspire me to be a better guitar player.

If the only thing you can get from watching him play is envy then this is not for you. It's titled lesson part two; here's a master of neo-classical guitar playing, not some radom playing C C D D E E G "well done!" I think perhaps you are supposed to understand its a close up of veiw of what he's doing; it would take a lot more time than 10:05 if he duncified everything down for the masses

To all those who does nothing but complaining about this being a "show off" video and that "Yngwie is an asshole", I believe you would had apprecieted this more if you were guitar players yourself.
I play guitar and many licks shown in these videos have been an invaluable asset to me when it comes to developing my style and technique.

Yeah just 3 things: he has a lot of expensive golden jewelry, he has very rare/old Fender strats and he uses 3 delays, a wah-wah and a 1,5 mm pick (with his own name on it, he even mensions it!!!)
