Token women or not, if this is what it takes for straight guys to see themselves in a freer, sexier new light, I say go for it. They and their women deserve it just as we do. If it means this company makes a bigger profit, great. We all need to open our minds folks. I love this commercial.
I liked these ads better when they were true to the brand itself in a subtle but honest way. Now it has just become another s&m heterosexual ad. Hopefully, just like Christina Aguilera once did, the company will go back to basics and do some justice to its true market: gay men.
I didn't find it as bad as the others thought, though I agree the women were terribly out of place. That said, the video's concept was interesting - like the model himself was submitting to someone as part of his fantasy.
I can't help but laugh at the placement of the token females in ads for exotic/erotic mens underwear where in reality no woman would be found for miles.
I wonder at what point ad companies/businesses will be comfortable putting out real ads to their REAL market. In the case of Gregg Homme, gay men.
Anyway, until then we HAVE to see out of place token women with titts in ads to sell erotic/exotic underwear to gay men. Hopefully some day businesses will feel comfortable "coming out".
