@messygoods oh im mentally challenged now am i and would you know that? And if i was it would still be better than being a little nerd playing chess for a living! Haha cop on!
@andrewn99 Its not a sport its a strategy game. Sports are more physical challenges and games are more mental ones. Speaking of being mentally challenged ......
Sport is every game which has championships, rating, position system. Yes, chess is different from basketball or soccer but it is still sport, just like poker for example (it is similar to poker because of less physical challenge compared to other games),. Of course, it's only my opinnion.
@andrewn99 considering it isn't a sport you should compare it to other strategy games. Millions of people seem to disagree with you whereas the very few of the ones that have players agree. You should play more often, it is a good game if you find a liking. And if not, save your comments for a video that promotes chess haters. I'm not against you but you are ruining the spirit of many avid chess players.
@theslayer445 Karpov was for a while too and the only one who could challenge Kasparov , some people even said Karpov had a good chance at the WC if fischer had showed up but age affected Karpov more than it dose other players.
I don't think it's fair to compare players of old with contemporary players. It is hard to say how good Paul Morphy (1837 - 1884) would be if he had been around nowadays. Morphy and Kasparov are legends - let's just leave it there. Incidentally, Karpov is 58 so he did well to take a game from Kasparov who is 46.
well opening theory would kill him.....but...it would be interesting to see them start at a even middle game postion, or maybe chess 960 or something.

An absolutely timeless video between the greatest grandmasters.
You cannot see the metaphysics between the two players right above the chess board. The amount of contemplation in such a short period of time.

I'm thinking Hikaru Nakumura, the current 2009 US chess champion, could easily provide some interesting games for either of these guys.
