My opinion (which will likely get flamed):

Instead of making just a GSC remake, a single version should be made, with every Pokemon available. You get to choose the region you start in and your starter, and you explore all 4 regions, battle every gym leader, face every villanous team (who are simulateously warring against each other), and eventually the aftermath of the massive orgy of legendary pokemon events will provoke you to save the world! Mew would be the legendary mascot .

The storyline had taken a nose dive, the special abilities limit actual strategies that were useful before (static gives paralysis wtf), personalities poorly affect how the rodents fight, the rival feels like a pussy compared to the GSC one, and pokemon contests suffer from cheating bastard syndrome. You have to literally multitask to fight the regis and...team aqua...worst fucking name ever for a sorry team.

Those were the great days, the height of Pokemon gaming. Everyone loved the games, and the original RBY and GSC series were incredible. Yeah, I know, the newer games have better graphics and stuff, but they just don't come close to what the old games had. I was 4 when RBY came out, and now I'm 10 years older and still play.

Heck every now and then I pick up one of the originals and play it, just because they're just that great. It was really fun, being a kid and playing these games with groups of friends, creating memories of parties where everyone would bring their Pokemon games to see who was the local master and who had the best party and stuff. Nintendo would be making a huge mistake if they didn't remake GSC EXACTLY how it was.
