love the drum sound on the slim shady ep, its a big step up from the sludgey production of infinate both have their own good and bad points, just like each eminem album has its good and bad points, each is a product of its time and what mathers was going through at the time.
i love the first 2 records this and infinate cause you can hear that hes really going for it on every track he really wants a deal and you can hear it in his style, hes just finding and refining his sound.
MMLP is his best album. SSLP and TES are classic. Encore has classic material, but overall was a big falloff. Relapse was ok, I was just happy to see him back. Recovery is very very good. MMLP, SSLP, TES are on a whole other level.
The slim shady EP is kinda like SSLP 1 or 2, EP meens "Extended play" i like too think of both of them as the same album, back in the day if CD's could hold more space, im sure em, would have put some of these songs off the EP on the SSLP, ever notice that his skits on SSLP are only seconds long? you dig?
@MidNightT0k3r SSEP came out before he was even famous. Dre liked the EP so much him and EM decided to use some of the tracks from it on the SSLP. So yeah, some of the songs from the EP WERE on the LP. (97 Bonnie & Clyde (Just The Two Of Us), If I Had, and Just Don't Give A Fuck)
@johnwall2wizards recovery was real nd he rapped about conflicts in his life nd shit he regrets nd dope lyrics...relapse was all about drugs and cannabalism..nd encore wass wayy to silly nd goofy but every album hes ever made was legendary
i like infinite better....better multis and its jst str8 old skool hip hop...... but Shady EP and LP were pretty good....Marshall Mathers LP was beast 2...i feel he fell off from there....
I think I can solidly agree with the author of this clip song cuz this album is off the chain and should have been included with the SSLP at the time minus "If I had" since it was already with the same beat on the SSLP
if you listen closely, there is a difference between the beats of "If I Had" from the SSEP and the SSLP. the one here is off of the LP. the one off the EP is a little less polished.
it depends on what you mean by best. infinite is the best as far as his skills as a rapper go. but its not as well produced as the slim shady lp, for obvious reasons!
Tracks like Murder Murder make it hard to believe that this was Eminem before anyone out of the zip code really knew who he was.
But then again you have to make it for already having talent, and this was the talent he had to make it.
This song made my 10 favorites the first time I heard, and listen to it everyday. I can't pull away from this song! It's crazy like Busta Rhymes after he heard Guilty Conscience... Crazy like the lyrics to 'Kids'...

Lol 2PAC Is overated. Em is sick, But not top 10. Listen to Big L, Big Pun, Big Daddy Kane, Koo G Rap, Rakim, KRS one, then ul see waht I mean. Eminem got his style from Big L and Big Pun which is smart since they are the top 2 MCs of all times. Obv em has a bit of Cage and Esham influence in him aswell. But L and P are his progenators.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And dont disagree, listen to them then try and argue. L freestyling is better than anything Eminem or Pac ever wrote. FACT. Ems was once sick tho. Not anymore. 2Pac is the suckiest rapper ever, he had no flow, no metaphors, no punchlines, dude was pure hype.
I mean why point out Ems influences like he stole thm EVERYONE is influenced by others, theres not a single rapper out there whoisnt except for the old school that started it, Ems just man enough to admit he had lot of influences unlike some wholl say they got 1 or 2 and thats it.
No the thing that pac had that i dont think alot of people get is the heart behind it you can hear the passion and see the relevance of his MUSIC he wasnt an emcee he was a poet he wasnt a rapper he was a song writer do ya homework listen to the music and never disrespect the dead legends that made hip hop what it is today
thats bull. People always compare Ems style to others, L, Chino, Method Man, Ace people need to make up their minds. And Pun was nothing but a rip off of Biggie.(still good though) im not trying to diss your opinion but Em is easily top 5 dead or alive just listen to Infinite.
fool just being the most lyrical doesnt make u the best rapper... infinite was th emost lyrical album in rap ever... but it wasnt deep like nas's illmatic... sslp ssep were better =P eminem top 5 cuz of the way he changes styles and he has so many diffrent types of contents unlike big l all about him being doper than other mcs and a straight thug who kills anyone who opposes him.. k my opinion eminem is the greatest cmon now.... be serious
you said infinite is the most lyrical album ever, you obviously haven't heard Big Pun's "Capital Punishment" lol now that is fucken lyrical, but infinite is fucken crazy 2
I take my comment back on pun because i listened to his album. He's as good as Biggie not a rip off
But lyrics dont make you the best? Fool YES THEY DO. Thats the point of the MC. There are alot of different styles but all those styles have lyrical gods and lyrical trash in them, and the lyrical gods r the 1 that usually set the precedent. Infinte is plenty deep,
"It's ok, Jelousy Woes II, Tonight, Never 2 Far, and Serchin" are all either deep or have a good message behind what seems like just lyricism. Maxine and backstabber are stories u can take steet knowlege from [well backstabber if u know why he made it and listen to how it relates] and maxine is basicaly watch out for hoes. R they the deepest as his later stuff? No but dont say it aint deep just because he's 'Super Lyrical. on here.N thats not fair about Big L, cuz he only had 1 album.
n even in that 1 album he had "Fed up wit the B.S. and Steet Struck" which balanced it out if ur a "gotta have a obvious message nut. Im not tryin 2 argue but this is all just my opinion.
you guys are crazy eminem has alot of good albums but lyrically as a emcee, infinite is his best although production is low budget, but yeh he has alot of ill albums, but he isnt the only nice emcee out there, there are so many nice cats out there(not on the mainstream) but if you look at in the depth of real hip hop you will see many ill emcees.
I like your respect for the underground, but come one, dog! you can't be saying there isn't any talent in the mainstream!!! Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Kool G Rap, what's not to like?
love the drum sound on the slim shady ep, its a big step up from the sludgey production of infinate both have their own good and bad points, just like each eminem album has its good and bad points, each is a product of its time and what mathers was going through at the time.
