  • Baku derived its name from Baghuvan in the Udi & Lak languages. Udi people are one of the ancient tribes who formed the kingdom of Caucasus Albania (modern Azerbaijan); The Turkic languages and the Mongolian language are from the same language family, but speakers of either one will not understand the other at all. modern Azerbaijanis DNA is mixture like an other nation on earth including Persians, whose language, DNA, and culture is a mixture of Arabic, Assyrian, Turkic, Iranic, and many others

  • Bad-Ku = Windy Hill in Persian. These are not pictures of ancient Baku. I know people in Azerbaijan speak a Turkic-language (which was adopted due to trade and interaction with Mongolia). But do the people of Azerbaijan really believe they are genetic descendants of the original Turkic Mongol people that came from the Altai Mountains in China? DNA testing (and common sense) says they're not -- the closest DNA match is to the Persians (and to a place called Fars province).
