This isn't how you cast on for a double sided scarf. You skip every other peg on the way down, and then hit those on the way back up. Videos like this made it really hard to learn to knit with a scarf loom.
Thank you for this video. I watched several and you said the two words that helped me cast on. Right side Left side. That helped a lot. Wish I could see you finish project. Please show how to change colors.
i've done this, but my blanket or scarf or whatever I am making has huge circles and is really loose!! how do i get it to tighten up. can someone help me out: bhputman@q.com
I hope this question isn't too stupid. Is it possible to show some varietys of the finish items? When I think about it, I have found that no one actually show what you can make. What you can make from this stich.
This video inspires me to try it.
But, how do you continue and finish it. Would you have a video for that?
Awesome awesome! Thank you so much!!! I could not figure this out from the instructions that came with my loom. You did a great job explaining how to start the project. Thanks again!
You know, I bought knitting needles, and I find that they stink. I think that tomorrow im going to get a loom and start this! Thanks! Your videos are very helpful. Ill probably be referring to them a lot.
I love your tutorial videos! You talk so clearly & the picture is absolutely wonderful! What do you call this stitch? I'm new to loom knitting I've been making swatches of different stitches I'm learning & labeling them as I do them. Thanks for making such a clear & helpful video.
hey i was wondering if someone could make a baby blanket using the rectangular loom since the biggest i could find was 22" i'm afraid it might not be big enough. Thanx
Yes you can make a baby blanket with the longest rectangular loom (22in. blue). just make seperate pieces, all the same size, then just stitch them together... HOPE I HELPED =D I am currently making a blanket for my grandma's Christmas Present...
Thank you so much for posting this video! I am new to loom knitting and I was having trouble with makin an even scarf by following the written instructions that were included with my looms. I can't wait until my scarf is finished!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I was trying to do this last night following the written instruction but could not do it. Your video is very helpul. I am going to make my scarf today.
i have that same exact loom, but i start differently. when i was taught (didn't bother reading the directions) i cut little strings and tied them to the bottom to make the bottom of the scarf have fringes. and i knitted it differently because of it. but i was going to make a bag out of a bunch of scarf squares, and that wouldn't work, so thanks for your tutorial!!
Thanks x 90000. Your a wonderful teacher and I'm finalllly getting this to work! Husband picked this up for me for my trip out of state, 8 hour car ride. e_e I am so happy I found this before I left! Thank you! Please make more of them! I wanna make a blanket but the guides online are soooo confusing.
You are awesome! This is by far the best explanation on how to start on a loom. I also loved the video with the yellow scarf. You should work for Provo Craft!!
i am nine years old. my dad was trying to help me and he couldn't figure it out. i saw your video. Nobody else had as much info as you did. You were the only person that has step by step instructions. Thank you very much!!!!!
I'm not sure what's wrong, or if you're doing anything wrong at all. Sometimes the scarf can become loose by itself. You could try using different types of yarn.
thanks for doing this video! scarves can be pretty pricey (in my opinion, for just a piece of cloth..) so i'm excited to get that set and hopefully make my ownn!
LOVE!!! Your videos's. But aren't you suppose to use two pieces of yarn? What would it look like with 1?

Once I do the 1st pass and pull the yarn over one another, it is very loose. Is there a way to fix this or is this normal?
1980forreal 1 month ago
@1980forreal That's pretty normal, I haven't figured out how to make it tighter. You could make it look tighter by using thicker yarn.

Hi,
if you turn the knitter round at the end of each row, would that mean you can always knit to the left all the time as think I would find that easier?
looking forward to my loom arriving and having a go at this ..
Great Videos, finding them very helpful x x

Great job. Small suggestion cut off a straw and use it to guide your yarn, string, whatever for smoother loading. Love the tip. Thank you.
