@hereiswytas: Yup, that should work too, just a little bit longer. If the other way didn't work, it's probably because you saved the script on the FAT partition on the phone, and FAT partitions don't recognize permissions. I should have mentioned that earlier, but it slipped my mind.
@bheybatam: It's not a game. Its use is to show the basics of PyGame on the N900 using the accelerometer. It's not useless, What is useless are people who can't figure this out even after watching a video that explains it. Thanks for wasting our time and space.
Nokia should make new version of OVI maps for MeeGo and Maemo, something where you spin the Earth like in some touch version of Google Earth and when you turn the phone then the Earth itself would turn with some cool effect
@metalx1000 I don't find python, please, can you give exact where we have to put it in storage? storage is full with maps, also what we have to do after, thank you
@nasreddinehariti: The best place to extract it to would be your home directory or create a folder in your home directory for it. Don't put it in MyDocs, that is a FAT partition and permissions don't excises on FAT partition so it wont be executable (you can still run it from there, but it's just easier to just put it in your home dir).
After that, just run it like I do in the video. Either ./3d-globe.py or ./3d-globe_acc.py depending on if you want to use the accelerometer or not.
im not to good with stuff like trying to get it on my laptop then over to my phone. would you be putting it on the download section of the phone at all??. thanks.
@v6hot: I've only made a deb file once. But, it's something I may do in the future. Really download a script and making it executable isn't that hard and it's real basic stuff you should take the time and learn how to do.
But, I'll look into getting it in the repose or post a deb file on my site.
@v6hot: Down load the file in the description to your computer and uncompress it. Then copy it to your N900 either using the Mass Storage setting or using ssh. Don't copy it to a FAT partition or else it won't run (Some parts of the /home dir are in a fat partition and you SD car may or may not be in a fat partition).
If you use the Mass Storage option you may have to reset the permissions of the file with chmod. After that just start it like you would on your computer from the command line.
I get error:
-sh: ./3d-globe.py: Permission denied
plz help

@7allmine: I thought pygame was installed by default. I guess not. Just install pygame from the package manager.

I don't get it, I have put it on my N900 storage, then when I go on it with my n900 it asks '' programme to open with '' what do I need to chose?
nasreddinehariti 1 year ago
@nasreddinehariti: Shouldn't have to choose anything, but if it asks it should be "python"
