  • SICK!

  • it was like there were somebody wanna fuck his ass

  • i think it would be great to see a new video of contemporary rippers but have been narrated by some guy with a 60's sounding voice carefully describing each maneuver as if it's the first time it's ever been done. I think that would be hilarious.

  • I just saw him at a Legends contest in San Diego, along with Skip Frye, Robert August, and Jock Sutherland. I got to take a picture with him. He's a great guy.

  • who cares if the film sucks; I went to school with David (Ball Jr High-Anaheim) he wasn't there long and he's a champion surfer! And no, Slater is good too

  • when I used to longboard, this was one of the hardest manouvers to pull. I would have loved to surf back then in the golden age of surfing. It must have been a really nice time to be a young surfer in the 60's. I talked to David Nuuwiha once. Nice guy, for sure.

  • David was the Tiger Woods of his time.

  • There are a lot of good longboard movies, Brown, Severson, Davis, etc. Most are for sale at your local longboard shop or on Amazon. This isn't one of them. For those who think the boards were junk in '62, when do you think 'good' boards were first made? And NOW there's Surftech! Now that's junk!!

  • Boards around 1964/1965 is when they started getting the rocker and foils down, which was when surfers were really able to perform on them.

  • YES!!! Thank you!!! I hate Surftech!!!

  • The movie sucked. Dale Davis was no winner surf flick producer! As for Nuuhiwa, I think he's just emerged from about 30 years of solid stoner goofiness. Missed-it as did J Peck.

  • The movie sucked??? It is one of the only movies from its time where surfers and shapers were able to ride longboards that actually worked! Incredible movie with incredible surfing from a lot of talented individuals. Dale Davis only produced 1 or 2 surf flicks, which he was able to capture longboard surfing in it's prime. As for Nuuhiwa, he was one of the best who influenced the best selling longboard in its era, when shaped by Dan Bendickson. Great film in my opinion!!

  • Longboarders are not about lip bashing and "destroying" the waves, they're about graceful wave riding, like it was done by the early Hawaiians....too bad how it's turned out. One guy wins over and over and over and over and over and over. Is something wrong here? Slater will just fade away. Who cares.

  • I think this might be one of the best and last movies made before they started knocking feet of longboards. I heard thats why this movie was a flop back in 68. Fergal83 probably wanted some blink 182 with a couple lip bashes.

  • Just give me a nice longboard, cool waves and some classic surf tunes and I am diggin' life!

  • Hello all my old friends from 72nd street long beach 64 thru 66. Dexter pagett,pete lingle,steve sigman,kenny gunville,lifeguard chuck linnen,steve vest.
