All of that is irrelevant. He is making a point, not dictating history. Jesus spoke in parables (which is essentially what Rob Bell is doing). Furthermore, lots of people called Jesus a heretic too... be careful who you right off as heretical. You're close mindedness may keep you from hearing some very profound truths. Guaranteed, Rob Bell is has far more education & Biblical knowledge that the majority of society. Maybe you should walk in his shoes before you judge him so critically.

@AlexCampos85 look i don't know you but who gave you the right to judge? remove the plank from your own eye before you help someone remove a splinter from theres. im 16 years old and i can't judge anybody either. It's NOT my place but in philillians it says "what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way weather false motives or true, christ is being preached. And for that reason i rejoice." im no match for paul. but this is what he says.

Typical 'chronological snobbery' that sees ourselves as the most advanced people ever. Where is there any evidence for what he says here? Lots of conjecture to back up the story he is imposing on history.
