How did I get here. One minute I'm watching dance films from the 30s and 40s..the next I'm trying to figure out what's going on. What's going on? "Ohm. Bravo. Very nice. Very Nice"."There's nothing more enjoyable"
at the time this was made I was very young and profoundly ignorant and never worried about all this scary stuff because I somehow was led to believe the grownups were going to take care of it but they didn't and now I understand and now I'm depressed.
Hmmm, seems like "The Emperor's New Clothes" to me. Someone says it is good and others say yay! Because they do not understand, but don't want to admit they do not understand.
I believe it to be crap and say so. It appears to be just disjointed and pointless as a drug induced addict's last acid trip.
It is crap. Do not fall for the propaganda of the "man behind the curtain."
@mouffettefatale - I am one of those people who have a problem with the nudity. I came here to flag it. It is pathetic when watching a video that is unrelated to this subject, to have this type of trash in your face of recommended videos. We are to cover our nakedness from others than our spouse for a reason. Nudity promotes fornications, and that is against God and yourown body. Clothes are to promote modesty, and testify of the shame mankind came under when disobeying God in the garden.
@ReadPsalms1 There is a fault in your argument: The nudity in this film is just that, nudity, not nakedness. If you research some basic art theory you will discover that "naked" is sexual in nature, while "nude" is how God made us. In fine art (such as this film) is makes a huge difference. We are born nude, don't be ashamed of what God gave ya'.
@ReadPsalms1 I respect your viewpoint. But this isn't pornography, it is art and art over the centuries has included nudity as the artist sees the beauty in the human form.
My god,how often have had to listen to this sort of pseudo-intellectual claptrap over the last sixty years. It is a substitute for thought and not a good one either!
I'm brazillian... believe-me, we're full of stuff like this. Running in our veins and freezing ourselves with a tremendous nostalgia... and the slums are nice too...
What is this BS? I hate stuff that's so (supposedly) intellectual, but that makes no sense whatsoever. Plus, it's a testament to the lack of talent of those involved in producing this kind of...BS!
@mouffettefatale You are correct. A film does not need narrative to be enjoyable, but the fact remains, this film sucks. A waste of Canadian tax payers money.
if people weren't perverts i would wear nothing just so I could feel comfortable! i mean jeez! the manufacturers make underwear tight now a days! that way more people become pervs
A very cool film from the Beatnik era. Saw this in art school back in the 80's and was hoping to find it again on YouTube someday and to here it is totally by random in the related video suggestion column.
Jeez, I remember now seeing this in Grade 5. It was one weird class made up of weird kids, one of those educational experiments of the '60s where nobody learned anything. They kept showing us films like this that made no sense, to "expose us" to avant garde things, like sticking a funnel in your brain to make you learn. We all watched it and didn't know what the hell it meant, then we all looked at Joey Amelia and Joey Amelia said, "That was. . . very nice. Very nice."
1:08 ... "A politician can promise them anything and they will not remember later what he has promised" ... so true still today. As long as they can get voted in - then they can do the bidding of their International Corporate and International Banking masters ... the masses can go back to work and watch entertainment and so-called "unbiased news" propaganda to keep their minds in line whilst the Big Whigs get on with their chess game of power and wars for profit and control ...
(Ambrosia, Vonnegut) I wanted all things to make sense So we'd be happy instead of tense Oh a sleeping drunkard Up in Central Park Or the lion hunter In the jungle dark Or the Chinese dentist Or the British Queen They all fit together In the same machine Nice, nice, very nice Nice, nice, very nice So many people in the same device So many people in the same device
man they thought it was bad back then, they'd cry at the stupidity now... legalizing torture in the usa and soon to follow are australia and nato... war on "terror" but they never specify what a terriost is so they can continue to take freedoms away in the name of fighting a nameless enemy... pathetic
i saw an occupier in colorado writhing in shivers in his sleeping bag half covered in snow. i suffered the deepest hurt and pain waiting 3 and a half years for some lawyer to finish the probate process so i could receive my inheritance. it's the same evil person behind all of this.
@erp65 They are the same a##holes who call "pretentious" and "boring" anything that is intelligent and finely wrought. There is an axis of consciousness. Those who find this masterpiece "pretentious" and "boring" have low levels of consciousness.
Thank you NFB and Canadian 1960's Tax $s...money well spent...too bad the present regime wants to cut this sort of art funding and spend the money on prisons.
Apparently your movie has upset the ignorant. God save us from the religious nutter. I love it.
