jake was indeed young, but no, he is wearing a hair piece. look at his time with the statesman qrt and he had much less hair then than he has here. but he's my favorite and use to actually take his hair piece off during the concert and was not ashamed at all, infact had fun with it.
Jake Hess in his younger days with the awesome Imperials. awesome!!! ministers of songs shining Jesus powerful light into this darkend world for all to see and be saved. great post, thanks a lot.
I used to have a record of Henry and Hazel Slaughter singing together. As was the way with records at times, it buckled and is now useless. Does anyone have any of the music of the two of them. Can't find any on Youtube or google
I may have an answer. Did record warp from age or heat? If so, try this. I did, it worked. Make sure buckled record is as clean as can possibly get it. Any dirt will imbed in.Sandwich it gently between 2 sheets of glass like window pane glass. Set sandwich flat in sun, on a day due to get in 90's but not in 100's. Black record draws suns heat gently, softens, weight of glass slowly, over the day, flattens record out. let cool naturally to stone cold (overnight?). should play ok.
@acapellaman45 Thanks for that suggestion. I had tried that in the past with other records but forgot about it. Certainly worth a shot anyway. It can't possibly make it any worse.
This video had to have been taped in 1966 or 1967 because Jim Murray joined the Imperials singing tenor in 1966 and Jake Hess left for health reasons in 1967.
I grew up listening to gospel music and love Jake Hess. Every word clearly pronouced, dead on with the rest of the Imperials, singing with joy in his heart and a smile on his face. What a joy to watch and hear this video!
I have been wanting to see a Jake Hess video of his group the Imperials... so thanks akdal83 for the video. I am also enjoying watching all your other videos too!
