Actually I think it's because the background music drowned out the sound when they were in the club. The DVD sound isn't as clear and the background music is more pronounced. I know, I'm sad.

Barry Norman grassed him up at an Oscars afterparty but Kaye said it had something to do with the fact he'd managed to get a better place in the line (they were both BBC, so it's sort of understandable why Norman was pissed off). Kaye never mentioned him interfering on any other occaission, and the time Pennis "did" him he took it with god humour. Paul Kaye gave up because he got sick of doing it and he'd become too well-known for it to be as effective.
