  • haha, he is awesome, and I think he farted at 06:33 :)

  • @StidneDlacice thats the butt trumpet, the man is always harmonic

  • JPJ is awesome.

  • I always loved that guy. No scandals, no sordid drug stories, no childish behavior on the road, never tried to hog the spotlight on stage. He's probably the most well adjusted out of all the mega rock stars I can think of.

  • @tomthefunky He just never got caught. Im sure he got up to no good, he's just too clever for it to be found out. That makes him even cooler....

  • A true bass god.

  • damn that jazzbass is so loud!

  • Legendary bassist talks!

  • JPJ had so much more to do with Zep's sound than one J Page would ever admit to... and that is for sure.

  • there is nothing about John Paul Jones that you can critisise

  • @bgrimles Except his haircut in Song Remains The Same

  • @PutItAway101 The first time I saw that I was 11, and I was confused as to what was going on in relation to JPJ's hair, I found it hilarious when I realised it was in fact his haircut. Highlight of the film for me.

  • @basslover171 The funny thing is it's only his real hair in the concert footage, the fantasy sequence where he plays the organ and goes for a horse ride with the mask on was shot about a year later and he'd cut his hair short by then, so they had to find a wig to match the live scenes.

  • @bgrimles he looks slightly like hannibal lecter, apart from that I agree

  • @Thiswasnotmade haha

  • @bgrimles Oh yes there is. When he delivered my pizza last week from PizzaExpress he brought me a salami when he knows I like pepperami. Plus he didnt bring me my change but then he always does that.

  • A total pro!

  • Simply the best!

  • shame about the low quality of this video, because it is a very interesting video on a big bass player who added another puzzle to the history of rock music

  • God *-* Thanks for posting! He is my hero,my inspiration,love of my life. So Fuckin Awesome and perfect for me. John Paul Jones Forever! ♥

  • John Paul Jones deserves to have a signature Fender Jazz Bass on the market !

  • @richymoore i agree, but he loves his 3 tone burst '62 j bass. what would his signature look like? u know what i mean?

  • @Pepper2Jason an exact replica of his 62 fender jazz bass.........

  • @chrismcglol thats just what the fender american j's are tho. they havent changed much really. no point

  • @Pepper2Jason neck radius hardware electronics bridge setup same relic job and personal mods he has had done(things people may not know of, because you just never know). most player signature models are just a normal instrument of a certain year with their aged life upon them.

  • @richymoore There is, it's called the Fender '62 reissue.

  • @DeltaGaryGordon The '62 reissue only has 2 knobs. Jonsey's had 3.

  • @zachmcfatridge Yeah, JPJ took off the 2 knob plate and stuck a 3 knob on it instead, God knows why. I wish I had tone control over both my pickups.

  • @DeltaGaryGordon It's an old modification done to get a cleaner tone,Jaco was famous for doing this mod to all his stack-nob Fender Jazzbasses,in his book he explains a little bit more on why HE does it but the stack nob setup supposedly lowers the output so by having only 1 tone nob the bass has more clarity and definition. I never played a stacknob that I preferred over the tradional 2 vol 1 tone setup,just dont jive for me,check one out against each other and see what I mean.

  • @cottonfever1221 Ah ok, didn't know that. Cool to learn new stuff. I would love to try one out just to see.

  • @richymoore dig that man!! good one"

  • @richymoore Good point, well made, confidently at the right time.

  • @richymoore He does deserve such a thing, except that signature editions are bullshit. And often a bit gimped down. Seriously, just go out and buy a Fender Jazz Bass or Precision Bass. :) To have someone's signature on it is a bit lame, no?

    Respect for your sentiment, though! I think I'm just having a bit of a bitch about signature edition guitars and basses. A bit lame, I reckon.

  • @muzboz I'd agree if it was simply the latest model with the addition of a signature but if there is something special about the instrument. eg it has been customised in some particular way like the Geddy Lee Fender Jazz has extra thin neck and Badass I Bridge and 1972 pickup spacing.This gives the instrument something special that you may desire and the signature is just a tribute to the artist you might love.

  • He says so much good stuff. Listen to all different sorts of music. I totally get into so many different types of music. My problem is that I also try to PLAY lots of different types of music. I get excited about wanting to make all different sorts of bands!

    I'd love to make a...

    * Afro Beat Band

    * Blaxploitation Funk Soundtrack

    * Prog/Psych Band

    * Noise Rock Band

    The list goes on...

  • @richymoore He plays a signature manson custom bass

  • An absolute gentleman and the most under estimated musician ever.

  • thanks for posting! he is awesome.
