@rumputtaja It's the matter of taste I LOVE that aggresion in her style. She and Hamid Drake are my favourites nowadays drummers :). I dont know why people like to hear same old shit over and over again. I respect musicians who dont care about the audience and play from the heart not to sell "compresed" music for radio stations.
Every artist has a thing they do with their mouths. It's rather amusing to just watch their faces at various points in the music and try to empathize how they felt it based one their look.
I just dont get< understand, or comprehend jazz at all to be honest. Tho all good jazz players are great talented musicians in there own rights when they get together as a band they sound like a cross between a bunch of todlers let loose in a music shop and disorganised adult mayhem on instrruments. Maybe it is just me thats missing the point or something but personally if this is what some folk call great music then im sorry but I cant stand it at all
@WIGANDRUMMER2010 To understand and appreciate the stuff they are doing in this video practically requires a certain level of experience and ability in the style as a musician. The level of this jazz is so far evolved from the big band swing and bebop it came from, even to the exlusion of listeners that are not musicians and/or don't comprehend all that's going on in the music. At this point it's purely a language, a communication. To understand, you must speak it too. Thanks for being honest!
@WIGANDRUMMER2010 I agree, sooo much jazz is just completely self indulgent, Hey look what I can do.However theres no denying the talent involved and musicians are certainly allowed a bit of self indulgence from time to time
drummings ok, rather loud, bash bash, but Jazz? no sir ,not for me. annoying, can't dance to it.... cant even listen to it,I hope Carlos doesn't get all Jazzy now.
Cindy is awesome! And if you're a drummer, check out the "Istanbul" cymbals she uses. I first heard them used by Lenny White. They are the only cymals I would replace my Paiste's with if they weren't so EXPENSIVE.
I LOVE THIS , MORE CINDY BLACKMAN BAND!!! MORE LOVE, none can TOUCH her STYLE, totally unique! Thank you so much for posting, outstanding musicianship, KEEP SHINING an AMBASSADOR FOR WORLD PEACE. MUSIC picks up where words leave off! More love for the sisters, brothers, nuff said! (((BOOM!))))
WOWweeeeee she must be Tonys daughter!!!! And that's a compliment because not many can play like him and yet have their own voice along with it. I love her style and Tony is the most noticeable influence!!!!! That's a good thing!!!!!
Cindy ain't no joke! Cindy is one of the finest drummers in the world. Many only know her as Lenny Kravitz's drummer. But long ago she was recording some of the best straight ahead, classic jazz around. Cindy is the sho' nuff real thang. Keep jazz alive.

She's got it! But still I have to admit her style is bit too aggressive for me; I prefer a subtle approach when it comes to jazz music.

@rumputtaja agreed. a bit too loud

@rumputtaja depends on what your playing, yeah? And personal style aside, if your being paid to play, what's asked of you...
