You can clearly see that he has one headlight out prior to hitting the gate, the entire driver side of the car is trashed, and if you look closely, you can see lights bouncing and swirling around prior to the impact, which I take to indicate another car hitting him on the driver side, redirecting him into the gate.
i dont think he controled what happend, if you look closely right before he hits the cement you can see something like sparks flying or somthing on the driver side.

I have seen 3 different police vehicle wrecks in a NW Chicago suburb over the past 4 years. One of which involved two officers driving into each other entering the police station. There wasn't a lot of accountability there unfortunately.

The promotion came with a solid work ethic, hard work, and not bullshitting around. I don't write anyone a ticket that isn't justified, or "just because I need to hit my quota." I'm sorry that a few spoiled idiots ruined the positives of being a cop. However, I am not one of them. I never defended anything that the officer did in the video either.

@abboyd1 I have spent time on youtube watching many of these videos, so I apologize for all the negitivity some officers choose to put on the name of Law Enforcement and their departments. I assure you, at least in my department if someone recieves a complaint against them for any reason, or if we find them pulling people over "just because" we handle it seriously and if they screw up; they do get reprimanded and sometimes even fired for their actions against the person(s) in question.
