  • I came here for the footage, but I stayed for the music (Oh, the footage too)

  • I'm afraid we'll all forget 9-11 soon..

  • The music makes it a little bit more scary ;o

  • I don't understand how a president in the feauture can posibly to deside to drop a hydrogen bomb on a country when it has never been tested and its affects studied

  • These weapons shouldn't be allowed to exist.

  • This was the biggest Atom bomb ever let off, 500 kilotonne. Anything bigger involves a thermonuclear weapon.

  • press 5 for unlimited ammo

  • Booooooom

  • why

  • OMG! A musical a-bomb!

  • @eluap In the key of "A".

  • so they wanna kill people by loud music from a bomb ,, hmm okay

  • oh jeez i couldnt hold it in i had to fart

  • that's ridiculous

  • Boom... real estate.

  • Should drop one of those on Iraq and bring are troops home and stop wasting tax dollars. thumbs up if you agree

  • Oh god oh man oh god oh man oh god oh man!

  • Yep pretty stupid.

  • We have twoo choys , the good or the bad technologie look in the Bibel

  • @LucMoustache1

I'll nuke the bible, and all the silly characters in it

  • @mdma4life and the qur'an and all other bullshit books..

  • @royalarctic

Yeah of course i'd nuke the Qu'ran thugh

But I will say this, at least that books principle meaning is peace and unity, opposed to the sheer malevolence of the bible

If you think otherwise, then your an idiot, the crazy terrorist jihad doctrine isn't part of the quran. It's no different then domestic terrorism attacks wherein American's kill their own because of the bible.

Crazy nutjob fuckfaces everywhere in the world no racial boundaries to insanity.

  • absolutely beautiful

  • @chessie2003

It's part of the complete package of a proper WMD, music is.

Bioweapons have screeching violins as you put the contaminated food in your math. Chemical weapons have 1940's "tragedy" string serenades as people fall down unable to breathe or move. Atomic weapons have orchestral complements of scifi "wonder" music as the reaction clouds blossom into the air.

They're still looking for a weapon to put rap music to, I heard from a friend in the top secret division.

  • @trombonbe42288 rap cant go good with anything. metal will go great with anything, just look up "fight fire with fire" by metallica and "blackened" also by metallica. best fucking nuclear holocaust songs ive ever heard and vary descriptive.

  • @trombonbe42288

DONT be silly now, the weapon you're thinking of is the held-sideways-or-upsidedown-even automatic pistol variant, that's the rap "music" weapon.

  • and they do all that in here :(

  • It sure did look like a skull.CRAZY!!!!!!

  • did you see the fish no well that cuz they all dead

  • anyone see the skull in the mushy cloud?

  • magic mushrooms

  • TIME-TO-GO

  • my father was on Eniwetok for some of these blasts

  • @ISpeakTrue

How about we start with you and your family first....

  • @AVIATIO Dont even try to understand people like ISpeakTRue...This guy is just a quite frustrated lifeless neo nazi

  • @ISpeakTrue Stupid people like you are the reason why blacks - latinos - arabs - europeans - chinesses ... Everyone including americans dont like the united states and the so called '' Americans ''

  • DUCK AND COVER

  • I want one for new years eve!

  • i felt the shock wave

  • That was like comparing a firecracker to case of dynamyte. The Ivy phase test was an H-bomb of like 10 megatons.

  • GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this how the grand canyon was made? :P

  • 0:21 moron how stupid can u be?

  • 2011: Aya Hirano murdered. Otakus out of control. Violence does not subside.

2012: Obama- 'Time to finish what we started.'

  • truly amazing

  • holyshit.......

  • How many of those assholes died from radiation poisioning?

  • @Sheri451 It is said that John Wayne was filming a movie called "The Conqueror" in the Nevada Desert, in an area later determined to have been contaminated by fallout from an unexpected wind shift, hours after a test detonation. He, director Howard Hughes, and a significant number of the cast and crew all died of various forms of Cancer over the next 30 years.

  • @EMS8643 i was told by my history professor that he was filming there to show that there was nothin to be scared of but the cancer thing is the same as what he said

  • @Sheri451: Probably none. The number who have throughout all the US testing probably amount to less than a dozen.

  • Every time a nuke goes off, somewhere an orchestra hits a crescendo.

  • @damaged01 It's a mandatory thing, like free coffee at work.

  • Lindo.

  • At least they played appropriate music-they could have played the theme from 'Whats Happening' and that would be...weird.

  • 2000 tested nuclear missiles on earth Does any one feel any safer

First it was the native Indians that were called the red skin devils by the American Government,Then it was the Japanese turn ,then it was Russia's turn to be public enemy number one.And now the latest American made public Enemy is a dude hiding in mountains 8000 km from anywhere...

  • @chessie2003 i know right!!

  • were all gonna die

  • America brings death and destruction everywhere it sticks its dirty and evil foot.

  • @chessie2003 rofl!

  • retarted. mushroom clouds scare me.

  • @FrickaFreshTV there is a huge problem with people - and nukes - i know this has been said before - but it seems like super powers forget what they do

  • @hunggakungfu i know rite? there is a piont in it, but they also need to calm down with the explosives, its just a bit to much wreckage lol.

  • @chessie2003 Its the one thing the commies could never figure out. lol

  • How many times have I told you, don't play with subatomic particles!

  • mah teevee sploded

  • when they knock the world of its axis theyl know all about it

  • What if that was dropped on a city? Hard to think about

  • @goodygoody23

Not that hard really, look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bombings just make the zero zone larger and you´ll get the same terrible result

  • but imagine New York or LA being wiped out in half a minute. Its terrifying

  • Truly Terrifying, not to be overly dramatic but when those bombs detonate it is like the gates to hell are opened. But take heart no matter how devastating they might be it will take alot of them to destroy life :)

  • true true the Earth is a big place. Plus they will probably never be used again, after the whole cold war thing. Now we get to wait for the next WMD type! Goody!

  • @goodygoody23 You DO KNOW that the "Cold War" was all a sham to scare the populace, hey?

And 9/11 was a controlled incident, designed to ensure that defense contractors would have something to do. The list of people that invested big money in General Dynamics and such 18 months before 9/11 is Top Secret, and a Black Squad would make you or I disappear if we made a fuss about our FOI request being ignored on that matter.

  • @xxxMrSuspendedxxx Oh and things like the korean war, vietnam war, cuban missile crisis and russias little affair in afganistan were all made up to scare us? Those proxie wars were all part of the cold war. So I wouldnt say the cold war was all a sham. As for your theory on 911 that has so many flaws its not even worth going into.

  • @goodygoody23 1/2 minute? Try 1 1/2 seconds, maybe, okay?

  • @xxxMrSuspendedxxx the entire city? think realisticly, though a few seconds difference is not the point. And I feel bad for you, that you bought into the bullshit of conspiracy theories

  • Thanks a lot for this idiots, im shure the people of the bikini atoll would have voted against this bullshit.

  • This was the largest pure fission bomb ever detonated. 500 kilotons. This was one of those weapons designs like many others that never got passed the development stage. It was never used in our nuclear stockpile.

  • hahaha love what we are doing to the planet no tree hugary meant

  • love how they always put music in almost everything in old american footage

  • @1mcool Where was Ronald Regan with the Lucky Strike ad?

  • @1mcool

nothing has changed in the present day.

  • hahahahahahaha lmao nice one

  • I'll bet those guys watching the bomb are all dead of cancer.

  • Nope. If they are more than 10 miles away then no serious direct radiation reaches them. Fallout is another story, but I'm sure they knew the wind is not blowing towards them.

  • WAY then !!!!

  • @Pinballpete007

At lot of them are all dead of cancer but ironically it was mostly caused by copious cigarette smoking that was at a height of popularity in the 1950's.

Back then everyone was rightly paranoid about radiation so every precaution was taken to stay separated from radioactive fallout. But in the end Marlbro killed more people with cancer than any nuclear test.

  • imagine a hidrogen bomb mixed with that bomb. thatll be the last of any thing on its path

  • if they made a bomb like that back then imagine what they can make now,a big bang that would swoosh all the clouds around the area away.=\

  • Don't forget your Ray Ben!

  • watching these nuclear test videos makes me feel like weeping. So much potential destruction left for our sons and daughters to suffer.

  • You Sir clearly dont know history!

becuse whidout nucler weapons the soviet EU and the Usa would probly still be fighting one a nother if me englisch is bad and you think i mean that they once did i dont! What i mean is that world war 2 would newer have ended. And if it did it would only be for about 3 years.

and be that i mean that whidout nucler bombs 2 make the soviet just sitting there they would have invaded EU. Ofcourse they would newer win but we would probly still be fighting that war

  • Good Answer.

  • The Soviets would have invaded the EU. Do tell us more about history, hietala8!

  • On On March 25, 1957 EU was born.

So yes they would have unless of nukes making them afraid of Ragnarök. (End of the world.)

I can cleary see that you think im an idiot saying EU was around at that time but then why is there all these documents saying it was born 1957?

Or mabye your just one of them hippies that have no ide how the world realy works?

Or mabye your just one of them normal americans who have no ide what history or any thing realy is?

  • He is absolutely right! Stalin never trusted the allies in Europe as we never fully trusted him. Patton was the only one who, in my opinion, saw it right. He thought that we should have immediately attacked the Russians and driven those Bolshevik bastards back to where they came from. Instead we got stuck with the Sov's taking eastern Europe for the better part of 50 years and trillions of dollars and rubles spent facing each other off during the cold war!!!!!

  • i know it sucks

  • Watching these nuclear test videos makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

  • Destroy these bombs...

  • soon these bombs will save us =)

  • Save us from what?

  • hmmm WHAT DO U THNIK?! TERROST!

  • from alien invasion

  • Destroy or disarm??? Disarming is better I think...

  • why they are wearing the maskes????

  • because of the light flash that the bomb makes

  • No one... is surviving that.

  • Holly shit...

  • jap... this will destroy the world...

  • That detonation is Ivy King which was the largest "fission" bomb ever tested. It used oralloy and had a yield of 500kt. Needless to say fusion weapons got far more bang for thebuck than this weapon.

  • Thats Like a Kamahamaha

  • not a king just a tatical nuke

  • Oraenx you may think that the mushroom cloud is part of the detonation process but its not the detonation is like any explosive detonation near instantanious the mushroom cloud is after the fact if you see that cloud then its too late the device has been detonated and you better be at MSD 30 miles or better would be my guess

  • Wow, that is a city killer.

  • scary shit..

  • yield?

  • 500 kilotons, all from fission.

  • Do Nukes detonate that slow or is it that they always slow the film speed down for dramatic effect?

  • It is that slow

  • dude, its actualy extremely fast but from the standpoint from which the camera is filming it seems that the blast radius expands really slowly but its really expanding at astonishing speeds.

  • read a physics or calculus book geez.......

Relative speed is the speed of one object with respect to a frame of reference in which the other object is at rest.

  • A nuclear war wouldn't necessarily end our world...One nuke or two two major cities could cause unconditional surrender by the other side. And, a nuclear war has smaller chances of occuring due to the fear of environmental problems and retaliation problems for the attacking side.

In other words, were probably safe for now.

  • its called Mutually Assured Destruction....haven't you ever watched WarGames?

  • actualy there probably never will be one ww3 wont be one either ww3 will probly just longer afgan and pakistan war

  • notice tthat after the bomb exploded the sky became darker? and the airaround the explosion had ripples in it.. the pushing out of sound waves or particles from the area of impact?

  • Well, the sky didn't literally become darker ... it's just the way the film exposure changes because of the variance in contrast from the explosion. Whip out your cellphone camera and aim it at the wall, and then a light ... you'll see the same effect at work.

  • oo shows how bright that blast was

  • If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky that would be like the splendor of the mighty one. I am become death the shatterer of worlds

  • when they tested nuclear energy after ww2 no one died right? i think they only died from the fallout maybe a month or two later

  • if anyone died directly from a nuclear bomb post-WWII, it would've cause the cold war to go nuclear, thus ending our world

  • It's amazing that radiation levels globally did not reach too high of a level seeing as how over 2,000 nukes have been tested globally.

  • I think they'd be dead =/

  • isolated areas, wonder around the Nevada desert, and some hewaiin (did I spell that right?) islands, you might get some radiation poisoning...

  • fuck

  • That sound isn't actually the sound of the bomb. (in case someone thinks so)

  • i like the violin sounds of the bomb

  • No, the boom.

  • :D

    ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪

(wasting space because it says my comment is too short)

  • that must of owned alot of fish lol

  • is this real ? if so in that area the fish must have 3 heads

  • the test is real

  • what size was that bomb

  • totally agree with lofi73

it doesnt't matter where you drop this bomb

in every war it will be used in it will kill a lot of innocents

  • I don´t care who drops these things...They are criminals!

  • Damn right!,me and jesus gonna be boppin and pill poppin!..wooo!

  • Are'nt there hundres of old women called the mothers of the plaza de mayo, who march around to this day trying to find out what the Argentinian government did to their kids? And yes, the Japanese WERE trying to build their own A-bomb. They were not, and are not, saints. And neither are Argentinians

  • Falklands war?

  • Fucking pseudoamericans. Shit-brains. You always playing to see who has the bigger dick. God...have mercy to America.

  • Argentina is the last country in the world to be lecturing anyone.

  • I'm talking as a citizen of the world. That's ok, my country is a shame, but we don´t kill people like a national sport...Hiroshima, Vietnam, Iraq, Afganistan...Do I continue?

  • k..

in the end...whe you look at the deaths of hiroshima and nagasaki...and look at what an invasion of japan woulda cost us?

the nuke was the way to go

but.....in the end...i woulda preffered the invasion myself

  • chances are that the invasion would have never happened, however, tactics would have changed to destroying railroads. The 1946 rice year was far below average (rations in Tokyo fell to 1012 calories a day) and destroyed railroads would have caused starvation. Its thought that Jap. might have surrendered in a few weeks but the USSR was planning to invade. This could have caused a second front for the Cold War. Now the USA and USSR would fight over Berlin AND Tokyo. Could have caused nuclear war.

  • Good job, soldier. Way to open the gates of HELL!!!!

  • except for distance, nothing, much less a desk, would have saved anyone from that "explosion" you idiot. Get a clue dumbass.

  • Unfortunately when you see the unmistakable blinding flash you have barely a second to save your life, you can't run a mile away in that time, impossible.

The point is these "duck and cover" exercises would not save everyone but if everyone took cover millions of lives could be saved.

Lessons learn from The Blitz also showed that any advice is better than the government remaining silent on the issue and letting speculation and fear spread like wild fire.

  • dude

    nuclear war?

    end of world

    period

have fun dying of radiation poisoning if youre not lucky to die instantly

  • Nuclear war is unlikely to "end the world" as the planet has gone through far worse catastrophes than this and life prevailed, humanity is particularly fickle due to our prevalence and preparations.

The perfect example is Hiroshima and Nagasaki, mainly how those cities still even exists! About 50% of the population survived a direct strike and though that is a "glass half full" perspective even a 25% survival rate gives an incentive to fight to survive rather than give up.

  • buddy,

those were not even 1 MT blasts

imagine a worldwide nuclear exchange between multiple countries

    example: continued...

  • This Ivy King test of the Mk 18 bomb with a yield of 500Kt is quite representative of the current US, Russian, British and Chinese nuclear arsenal: as the majority of those bombs have yields of only 300-400Kt.

A 400Kt detonation at optimum altitude will destroy about 66 squ km but that will not completely destroy a typical city that is 400km2 in size. Hundreds of thousands may die but most of the population would survive.

And the cities wouldn't even be the main targets but the military bases.

  • thats what we think : |

well unfortunetly for me and you...

theres only one way to find out :P

yes..most of us would survive but that would leave 100's of sq. miles unhabitable..

where are you going to put the survivors?

    more importantly...

how are you going to prevent the radiation and fallout that is sure to follow?

  • We'd handle the survivors just like Japan did, with great difficulty. Remember, 2 cities were nuked but virtually every other Japanese city was destroyed to the same extent by Le May's fire-bombing tactics. A little known fact is the fire-bombed cities suffered higher casualties than the nuclear attacks.

The grizzly fact is people die in their habitation so though less housing, there are also less people.

But the immediate fallout is not as bad as you would expect from a typical air burst...

  • well yea air bursts are more immediate damage

  • A typical air-burst of a 400Kt weapon the fission generates a lot of radioactive by products as well as neutron irradiation of the whole bomb and the surrounding air but this amounts to a relatively small amount of very fine radioactive fallout and being so hot is mostly propelled up into the upper atmosphere where it slowly falls at low risk levels.

This was why the outskirts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were habitable afterwards with little residual radiation.

  • Large fallout could be created by a megaton range thermonuclear bomb (large fusion stage) detonating on the surface where the fireball creates a large crater and draws up tons of pulverised rock and soil into the mushroom cloud. Tons of this material is irradiated by neutrons from fusion that falls downwind like volcanic ash within a few hours. See Castle Bravo.

But Surface Detonation were only for use against remote missile silos and is not even used by most nuclear powers any more.

  • makes sense......

what about bunkers containing top ranking officials?

  • From Civil Defence documentation on all the likely targets; military bases and silos first, then infrastructure (electricity/fuel/water), then ports like San Fransisco.

But the politicians were Tertiary priority, only a general attack on the capitol to disrupt unity.

I know Strategic Air Command don't operate from a bunker but from a plane as it can "hide" in the large skies. Executive branch would also probably operate from Air Force One then finally retiring to a secret location.

  • continued:

russia strikes the u.s. the u.s strikes back,

iran says...well use em or lose em,

    launches at israel,

nato and whatevers left of the u.s. launchen retalitory strikes againdt iran, meanwhile pakistan and india are exchanging, then north korea says "might as well" launches strikes at south korea etc.....china launches theres at japan, nepal etc. continued...

  • continued:

    remember these are 15MT - 20MT blasts.....

people who are "lucky" to survive the blast (yea right pfft lucky) would have to face a worldwide free-for-all while trying not to lose to radiation poisoning

    have fun!

    good luck : )

  • I don't like your attitude saying you are better off to die than live.

Every year thousands of people brave radiation sickness over death when they undergo radiotherapy to treat cancer. The treatment is worse than the disease but people do it because when if comes down to it PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO DIE.

There is nothing lucky or fortunate about dying, it is the worst thing that can happen to you.

So stop ridiculing attempt by governments and individuals to reduce fatalities.

  • are you for real?

you are telling me you would want to die a slow painful death rather than a quick painless one?

    you're crazy.

  • For one thing there is no guarantee I would die, the slightest radiation exposure is NOT a death sentence. Especially with basic treatments and precautions.

The overwhelming majority of people killed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki were killed by blast and burn injuries, not radiation poisoning. This was due to the air-burst where the fireball didn't touch the ground.

It is this IGNORANT attitude that breeds panic that could lead to thousands of pointless suicides in the case of a nuclear attack.

  • Well yea once you die You go to Heaven and meet Jesus and God, best thing ever.

  • Once you die there's nothingness!

  • yup
