as much as I admire Indira Gandhi for her defeat of pakistan in the 1971 war, I must say I am profoundly saddened by the ghastly events of Operation Bluestar. We all make mistakes and this was a colossal one by the non-Sikh Indians. There was no need for secession of a Khalistan state, but the way to resolve the issue was not to invade a holy site on a holy day. We only hope that Sikhs can forgive the monstrous error made and live together as Indians again. We are deeply and truly sorry.

@suvi0518 You are talking about facts ! Can I ask , by whom these facts were documented ? What you want to to say by guards wouldnt let everyone enter on any other day ? In Golden Temple there are Sewadars not guards and they never guarded the Golden Temple from Sangat ! Even in June 1984 ! Again I will say that pls dont add more insult by trying to justify mistakes and atrocities of Congress Govt. against Sikhs & Punjab.

Punjab is facing a mammoth drug addiction problem and most victims are Sikh.Kidnappings are at all time high.Most youth r disinterested in education n want 2 go 2 Europe,Canada n USA 2 do small- jobs petrol pump attendant n taxi drivers.Punjab Police is engaged in all illegal activity vis forced prostitution in Moga,looting NRIs etc.No MNC invests in Pujab all software industry,call centres and car mfacturing going to South India.Pujab will become next Bihar in 20 years if these not attended.

for healing we should have a truth and reconciliation commission like south africa.thewhite Afrikaners killed Africans for Generations n r living in peace after Mandela.But for this to take place even sikh community needs to unconditionally condemn what wrongs were done by people like Bhindrawale and other terrorists.If u keep harping on wrongs by only 1 side there will never be reconciliation.i openly say Delhi killings were wrong.No Sikh want 2 even admit terrorists were wrong.

why all the thakedars of the Pant supported Bhindrawalen if he was a creation of the congress party that means they supported Congress .What about after1984 tthe Khadkus who killed and raped and also looted from Sikh families.I was in Bathinda from90 -93 and was told by a Sikh friend whose farmhouse was looted and the ladies told to remove all jewellery and handover.water problem exists btwn Karnataka n Tamil Nadu also does that mean some1 shud make any temple an armoury to wage war

I agree that Indian army entered the holy place with shoes but some ex army officers told me that some acid was spilled on the floor to prevent army to enter the temple, I will like to ask one question that if the attack of the indian army was all of the sudden then what about the weapons and ammunition found in the golden temple and a big american made very advanced HAM radio transmitter was also found in the so called saint's room, ammunition is not required in any prayer system of the world.

Its really sad for the innocent victims. But what disgusts me even more is that separatists use religion as a shield to propagate fanaticism. They say soldiers wearing boots in Temple was disrespectful and what about those tons of weapons and ammos gathered in the holy place? Was that respectful? How can those people, who want to tear apart their own motherland, be dear to any God?
The Soldiers were serving the nation and that's their only religion and the nation is their God.

@twistedwest1 the plan of Bhindrwalen failed because he underestimated the resolve of the Indian Govt.Even in my family till my grandfathers generation the the eldest son would become sikh.Whether Sikhs accept their ancestors are all Hindus that is why they celebrate Rakhi and do do not serve meat in the langars.u have not answered other parts of my question>golden temple is not a military establishment to put up anti aircraft guns and to keep AK47 is not permitted under Indian law.

@14pvk there is no difference between a sword or a ak47. guru gobind singh brought arms into gudwaras and cannons do you think if he was fighting enemies today he would use a sword to combat mughals no he would use what is modern at time. there is no difference and no problem in bringing arms into golden temple to protect faith and gain freedom
