  • I was in a DTS when I was 19. Studied the bible, great lectures, adventure, built shelters for poeple in Mexico, witnessed to kids in schools in Guatemala. One of the most adventurous and best times of my life.

  • All hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

  • Seeing and hearing all these obsessed people is almost 'scary'. These people are being brainwashed to brainwash others. It's a very, very sad thing that organisations/cults like this are allowed to excist.

  • @iXzerty I wish you could realize that those people are answering God's calling to their lives. They're not brainwashed, they're blessed. I'm planning to do my DTS in 2013!

  • Acts 5 tells of the apostles being arrested for preaching the Gospel of Jesus. Its especially prominent when Gamaliel stood up and said,

38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Let God be the Judge of what these ppl are doing, and if it be for him it will prosper,if not you are only fighting with God

  • Let me give you guys some biblical proof why those so called YWAM missionaries are in majority just some backpackers with a little bit of Christianity.

When you read the book of Acts ( a missionary report) you will see that Paul and the other missionaries are talking about how God is working and what the result of it was. When you look at an average facebook report of a DTS participant, you will see that the emphasis is on fun, food, sightseeing and other touristic activities.

  • LIFETRIPS is right YWAM sucks, but Jesus has shown His disciples how to deal with 'organisations' and people like that: Matthew 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him,

Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended,

after they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said,

Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted,

    shall be rooted up.

14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind.

And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

  • YWAM = BUNCH OF BUMS LIVING FROM "DONATIONS" TRYING TO BE "COOL" IN THE WORLD AND THINK THEY ARE "BETTER" AND "HAPPIER" THAN THE REST BY HAVING THAT "BUM-HIPPIE-COMMUNITY LIFESTYLE" "TRAVELLING THE WORLD LOL" THANKS TO OTHERS PEOPLE DONATIONS! THESE PEOPLE SHOULD GET A JOB!

DTS = EXPENSIVE LOSER CRAPPY "CERTIFICATE" SPEND THAT MONEY ON REAL EDUCATION (A REAL CERTIFICATE) AND BE PRODUCTIVE IN THE REAL WORLD! THAN WASTING TIME & MONEY WITH AN ABUSIVE CONTROLLING CULT.

  • I will admit that I've heard of some bad YWAM bases, but the majority are all rather good. A cult? Sorry, but if that's what you believe you must have not researched enough. Anyways, I'll be doing a DTS in Tokyo, and it is my belief God is calling me there.

  • YWAM is a controlling, manipulative CULT! Beware!

  • Matthew Chapter 28 : Verse 19.

    In Jesus' Name we Pray.

    Amen.

  • Abusing the naivety of the youth like this, it is despicable. It all revolves around profit, be careful who you trust, don't follow this cult! I'd rather have you kids not follow any religion, you just get taken advantage of!

  • Youth With a Mission is a fucking evil fundamentalist group! TO HELL WITH YOU ALL!

  • here is a video of what DTS is all about.

  • ATTENTION YOUTH: Listen to Ray Comfort's "Hell's Best Kept Secret". Simply google search "Hell's Best Kept Secret" or Living Waters ministries.

  • @MrFreespeech01 Ray Comfort is an idiot and a criminal. He doesn't believe in a god - he believes in making money making himself look like an idiot - which he is.

  • GO!!!

  • Go YWAM!!!!!!

  • tottaly do a dts its gr8

and we dont force god on people living for god is a choice if your forced its going to be fake and empty christianity is a life style and relationship

  • @simeon141 DO NOT DO A DTS! YWAM IS A DANGEROUS, CRUEL, CORRUPT, DUPLICITOUS CULT.

  • not listening to his voice, and maybe do not truly know him/have a relationship with him. Either way, God is worth knowing, not just to be a part of a religion but to know the one who created you, understands you, loves you no matter what, is forgiving and patient, and yet holds the entire universe in his hand, and commands all of creation, to know that God personally through Jesus. It is about Him.

  • ...and for that and the other things christians have done to hurt people I am truly sorry because we have, but the God of heaven isn't a man, he isn't like that, and christianity isn't supposed to be about our traditions and theology and zeal, ...

  • ...it is really about Jesus, about God, about having a relationship with the God of heaven, who is completely sovereign and gave us free will even when he knew what we would do with it, and then was willing to die to get us back, it's about a relationship with him through Jesus, sometimes we as christians just forget because we are still human and mess up or because there are individuals who are claiming to do the Lord's will but are not walking with the Lord,...

  • Youth with a Mission is Cool.

  • @drtgreatwhites YWAM is abusive, fraudulent, dangerous, authoritarian, cruel, violent, corrupt, and pure evil.

  • YWM is Cool.

  • YWM is Cool

  • Hello, Everyone. I'm David, and I know DTS, too ! I think it is a very good training school... And the outreach.... Wonderful... I like to visit other countries, but I can't, 'cause I'm not a DTS member... :( But, it is wonderful!

  • I did DTS back in 1999...and now I'm doing what I love....learning and writing about people from around the world, sharing about who they are so that more people can know and love them, and do what they can to help them. I love being in YWAM!

  • 1 week until my dts starts WOOO!

  • There is also one week left until my DTS starts. :)

Where will you do your DTS?

  • Perth, Western Australia.

    You?

  • The first three months I'll stay in Southern Germany and then I'll go to Tanzania, East Africa.

  • i want to do my DTS ....!!!

  • People should be wary of the verisimilitudinous nature of christians. Ignorance is no excuse for the tyranny of missionaries in their incessant determination to destroy and rob the people they profess to be helping. The world's various cultures who wish to keep their indigenous cultures and beliefs would do well to be wary.

  • The nature of Christians is to redeem the world into all that it was fully created to be. It is no large jump to say when we see death, harm, poverty, confusion and the like we say "this is not how it should be" ... Embracing beautiful bits of the world-put-back-together includes preserving and celebrating diversity. The hope of the Christian is that ALL NATIONS and people will one day be together, all loving self-sacrificially. Besides, if you don't believe in God, who cares at all?

  • First of all Christians are about making other Christians. I don't want to sound tripe but you remind me of the Borg from Star Trek. You won't stop until you make the world into your image. I do believe in God I just don't believe in bullshit. "Now is your chance. Are you ready?" (to sell your soul?)

  • That comment definitely hits home for a Christianity that focuses on converting people to a standard set of beliefs that cares only that people can regurgitate those beliefs to others. That is fundamentalist Christianity that has developed only in the last 100 yearts or so... I mean, true, historical Christianity isn't about brainwashing people... it's not about our image. It's about restoring to the image it was fully created to be. It's not the borg, it's the genesis project.

  • I really agree somewhat about not stopping... We will not stop loving, even those who hate us and will never put faith in the God of redemption, life, love and forgiveness. we will never stop healing. Never stop planting where the ground is destroyed. We will never stop. Your belief is second to us loving you, knowing who you are fully created to be, with all your undeserved worth, even if you don't.

  • Nice idea! But that is where it ends. This world is not a Disney production. What makes you think that the world can be made perfect? This world is about endings including your own end. Not to mention the fact the Christian church has done it's fair share of terror and murder. What is it about religious people? They find God and lose their discrimination.

  • the world will be perfect when Jesus some back. if you don't believe that, then ask yourself, what are we doing on this bloody planet? is life meaningless? or is there hope? i i am sorry for every thing a christian has ever done to hurt someone. i will try my best to represent God in a good way the best i can...

  • Hope is for the hopeless. If you are happy what need is there for anything in the future or whether there is any great reason for your existence? Happiness is itself sufficient. Not happiness in some other place or some other time. But, happiness found in the already present and already existing Truth. For what other Truth could there be? Heart full and heart broken. No dream, no idea, no doctrine, no image, nothing but Truth Itself. Happiness Itself. Freedom Itself. All the best!

  • I know some missionaries and know of some others who have been willing to give everything, even their own life for some out of love for the people they shared sorrows with, living amongst, being friends with to minister to because they genuinely loved them, but on at least one aspect of what you said you are right; I have heard of some other missionaries who hurt those they were supposed to be loving out of greed and selfishness, ...

  • i sont know why i did this?

    lol

  • I think it's a great video. I'm from germany and my DTS starts this year in october. I'm so excited! :)

Thank you for this video. Now I can show my friends better what I'm going to do.

    God bless you!

  • I have applied for this year YWAM DTS and I am praying that I should be accepted.

  • What are you talking about? Did you even watch the video? It had nothing to do with an American church?

  • Jesus Wasn't white... bless you and your bad racist self. I'm a YWAMer and honestly, I'm in it to make people's lives better, not just sit back and say the rape, murder, STDs, lack of potable Water, Genocide, child armies, slavery, abduction, kidnapping etc etc ad nauseam is all fine and good. It's not about cultures or skin color. It's about fixing what's broken, and that isn't limited to the 3rd world.

You can criticize those of us who help others when you get off your butt and do the same.

  • Thank you for posting this video! Many of us would like to see more videos without the music - videos following individual groups on their missions. Let the video speak for itself - you wouldn't really need to have anyone speak directly to the camera ... just record what is happening. We will look forward to seeing this type of video about YWAM posted here. Thanks again !!

  • Mama hilda, alejandra and carlos, you have been in ywam guatemala, I was there too. I miss everyone in the base. God bless, great vid :)

  • hey mooch goes tube

    humans need brain washing

  • This is just incredibly sick - people get brainwashed and get trained to brainwash others all around the world.

  • thanks for calling me an asshole. do you have a good answer to my criticism or is that all you can say about this?

it's up to each human being to decide what they believe in. there's absolutely no need for an organisation like YWAM teaching others how they can convert people to christianity - in fact, it's a very dangerous activity because this is nothing else than religious fundamentalism.

  • people CAN decide for themselves..

    and YWAM __makes god known__Y

WAM doesn't force people like you think.

If you discovered a way to solve the energy crisis, wouldn't you want people to know?

  • Sure, but this is different than energy crisis, a cure for cancer or whatever - you compare apples with oranges. You think that make god known is something good, but it isn't at all. I really miss some respect for other peoples beliefs. Imagine muslims come here and do the same, i'm sure there will be protests and people calling them fundamentalists. But what's the difference with YWAM? Why do they go on a mission and tell people they should pray to a christian god bcz it's better?

  • you wouldn't know how good it is, becuase you haven't tried tha Jesus Thrill^^

haha, but yeah, if one doesn't want to accept, we don't force people to. And I don't see how it is a problem then. And you talk about respect for others beliefs? You are completely disrespectful by saying YWAM is fundamentalist, brainwashing and dangerous.

Have you ever met a YWAMer? What the heck is so dangerous about us?? Everyone chooses what they want to believe in. Noone is forcing anything on anybody.

  • That's true - i didn't met one of YWAM in person, but i read throught your webpage and your statements so at least I got an image from your marketing department ;) To make it clear: I never mentioned "force", but as written on your page, you teach people to believe in god "through both words and actions", which is clearly missionary work and trying to convert people to christianity - and, as also written: "YWAM also engages in church planting among unreached people groups."

  • And about respect: I do in fact respect your and any other belief, and I'm sorry if my words didn't sound like this. Where I have difficulties to respect is missionary work, because in my eyes, it's really a lack of humility and respect for other peoples beliefs and way of life. And we're not talking about teach them treating their nature with better care, don't smoke cigarettes bcz this harms you - but this is about a very personal, subjective matter.

  • Dude. Everyone has a right to an opinion but not everyone's opinion is right. What if it's your very personal subjective belief that two and two equals five? You'd be wrong. When it comes to eternity, I'd rather be right than respected and when it comes right down to it so would you. Truth is more important than respect. Personally, I reserve my respect for the Truth.

  • So, what exactly is your point? There's proof that 2 and 2 equals 4, but there is no proof about anything regarding religion, eternity, etc. Nobody can say he's right about that (or knows "the truth"), neither can you... what you respect is your personal point of view to the Truth, others have other views.

  • try to apply logic here, mooch. here's my point: either there is a God or there isn't. (it's like math.) And if there is a God, either he's one sort of God or another.

  • Religion is not any different from any other part of life. If you applied your theory of religion to airplane engineering, people would be dropping out of the sky all over the place (if they even got up into it). Doesn't it seem somehow weird to you that every part of life except religion, in your view, operates on the principle that things are what they are and not what they are not?

  • Logically (or theoretically) you would be right, but trying to apply logic to religion just doesn't work - like it doesn't work to apply logic to love, to women ;), to feelings. etc. so I don't think comparing to math or airplane engineering is a good approach. It's a totally different layer. A philosopher would say, that there can only be one Truth (and I completely agree with that) but in practice, the world doesn't work like this.

  • Or to get back to my original point using your terms: missionary work is like going to someone who has a working airplane and tell them all your planes built so far are wrong, use ours... no matter if that works, just because the missionary thinks his plane is better.

  • Well, I don't think the analogy holds very well. What do you mean by "working airplane"? I think it's either more like someone who comes and explains why the airplane works (if indeed it does) or, more likely, explains how to make it really fly. The simple fact is that there are no "working airplanes" out there except for those that rely on the truth about the world -- both literally/physically and allegorically/metaphysically...

  • Logic (or theory) that cannot embrace and explain either religion, love, or women is simply either incomplete or plagued by false presuppositions. In your case, my guess is that you are plagued by false presuppositions, such as that absolute relativity is a logical possibility... (and perhaps when it comes to women and love you might simply be lacking data). :P Try beginning with the question of God, or of absolute value if you will. It takes some doing when you're used to anthropocentrism.

  • christian Greetings can anyone join with this organization regardless of their denomination?

  • Yes, YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Is open to all denominations. :c)

  • yes yes yes

this is the best thing ever for everyone

  • Very good - I will use this one in my promotions!
