For thousands of years The ocean was not a resource for drinking water at all but with Desalination plants the whole world can have fresh water. The should be no foreign aide to countries that fail to inplement birth control plans. For thousands of years The ocean was not a resource for drinking water at all but with Desalination plants the whole world can have fresh water. Grocery stores, restaurants and food product distributors THROW AWAY food that goes unsold because they can claim a LOSS of PROFIT. They would never give away profit even if it helped the needy. An intelligent population doesn't need government. It may not seem as if we're becoming more intelligent but I think we are, even though the education system,with the help of church and state, is doing everything to pervert, corrupt, and dumb down the population. I think that every politician should have a DNA test to make sure they are human. Politicians should have to go through a rigorous tests to make sure they do not have psychopathic as these types will spend a lot of energy to gain

@haraldschl Not a bad idea, although implementation would be a problem. Anyways its not politicians that are the problem, they are just doing there jobs, its the system. The system is so corrupt that even politicians that are honest(examples include Bernie Sanders, Ron Paul, and Dennis Kucinich) are marginalized by the mainstream media and political establishment.
A populist movement like we had in 1930's is what is needed, and a paradigm shift in thinking would be nice too.

If there are too many people on the earth then how are they here? What I mean is a container can only take so much and then it will 'breakdown' in some why. It will crack,shatter or explode! There aren't too many people, it's blatantly hoarding of resources and asymmetrical access to food and other needs. Holdren is correct. There is a limit to what the world can produce and what would be a maximum world population. Sterilization would be a humane method to control population. The should be no foreign aide to countries that fail to inplement birth control plans. If a nation fails to to contain their population a method of control should be inplemented by the nations of the world collective.
