Try this update google below: MacBook Pro Video Update addresses an issue where MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010) computers may intermittently freeze or stop displaying video.
This is an issue with a large series of faulty Nvidia 330m cards coming with these models. I have it to. No software update, or part replacement will fix it. You can prevent it by turning off graphics switching so the nvidia card is never used, and down load the "fix" for these models apple has released, although it doesn't entire fix the problem. Lion always has more reported crashes then SL.
I have updated yesterday mi MBP 2010 NVIDIA 330M i7 to Lion 10.7.2 and the problem of BSOD comes with Google Chrome and with Preview watching PDFs. When I see any PDF with Preview, BSOD.
can you guys help me .. i started noticing that my mac book pro 15 inch made in california intel i 7
gets crash and broken graphics.. when i start using ati 3d graphic card in windows it happens automatically .. sometimes it happens because you use 3d graphics and sometimes automatically.. i can't really understand why and how to fix it..
Are you still having this problem? I have been having this problem for months, first on Snow Leopard and now on Lion. Even swapped out NVidia drivers to try and rectify the problem. I have been forced to use my integrated graphics all the time and can't use an external monitor or projector because of it and that stinks. Were you ever able to find a solution?
@p410media after the first logic board replacement it got even worse. the second fixed the bsods but now my wifi adapter isn´t working properly.. i think its harware related
I started getting the BSOD almost immediately after I download a regular MAC Security update. I screwed with it for days and my tech guy in the US (I'm now on an Island in the Philippines) suggested I download Lion and upgrade from 10.6.8 .. I did and still have the same problem. My screen dims and then I get black spots on the bottom of my screen, then it's lights out (screen only) within a minute or 2. I'm so mad over this, I can't see straight. No real tech support here and very far away !
i had a kernel panic on my mid 2010 macbook pro not too long ago with Lion on it. i did a force shut off and rebooted and haven't had a problem since.
I have the same issue on the same macbook. I actually can do it immediately going to photobooth as many others do and get it crash. Page 2 full screen in photobooth does it.
check out my vid in my profile page, its proof that this is not a driver problem exclusive of lion. you must reclaim a solution for apple, that is what im doing right now
Nice Vid dude, Its good to know at least this insnt a regional problem, you are not alone. Shame on apple for let his custumers get so frustrated. Aaaa By the way, it happens also on a clean installation of Snow Leopard, but when you are zooming and scrolling in any photo in iPhoto.
@HalberMensch777 Yeah just tried it out! Without gfxcardstatus running so that the graphics card was selected automaticly.... Got BSOD immediately too! :-P
too many problems

Is it possible to change NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M card? If yes what card could be compatible?
salbal777 1 month ago
I have exactly same problem. Apple must provide solution for the common crash. Let's keep their phone ringing.

is this just on macbook pro or macbook air or macbook?

is there a place or petition to let apple know about it??? its really sad.. you pay an apple premium price and expect something better than that...

This is simply preposterous, Macs don't crash >.>

I have the same problem. After 6 weeks of Apple trying everything under the sun to fix it, they have finally agreed to replace my entire system.

yes, sure. А lots. Another trick - try to open Photo Booth.app and scroll to second page of Effects. You'll get BSOD immediately
