  • Authors seem to display the Pike Syndrome in their rigid belief that they are correct in their all-encompassing overstated conclusions.

  • This seems to be a better illustration of learned helplessness.

  • The Pike Syndrome provides a useful reminder of the harm unchecked assumptions can cause between people in conflict - to resolve any conflict it's worth spending time exploring all such assumptions as they arise.

  • I know a few people with this syndrome. The problem is they are about as bright as a Pike. Maybe one in a hundred will have the sense to make the change. (I wonder if I've got it)?
