Your recipes are fantastic and canning them is a great idea I will be making all your soups and canning them as well please keep it popping and chopping thanks
Love your cooking movies! I especially loved the Ham Fried Rice one. I'm a Pork Fried Rice fan, however. Can I make it similar to your "Ham" recipe? Or do you have another? My SIL is from Thailand, and she cooks the raw eggs into the rice/pork mixture. But mine gets kind of "mushy."
I'm usually not a greta cooker, but I got to get a cast iron wok. People say it's the "thing!" God Bless......Diana Lynn.
@dialynn44 that pork in the fried rice is char siu - chinese style bbq pork. Very delicious. You can buy a charsiu mix and marinate your own pork and freeze parts of it and save it. As for the raw eggs. Fry your rice first - and once it's warm - make a well in the center of your skillet - spray an extra bit of pam or oil and stir the raw eggs in the well THEN mix it into the rice - that should give you a better texture. Thanks So Much for enjoying my cooking!
Tell AP if he wants to do home brewing, to get a book called The Home Brewers Guide to Brewing. It helped me when I was doing my brewing in the SCA. Lots of good recipes, techniques and even some stuff for those on a budget.
@nutsarefancy it's a nakiri my friend - you can buy them lots of places - mine was sent to me by my Aunt years ago while she did some consulting in Japan. I have a new ceramic version but I don't want to crack it open.
Shechef.. i like how you take out the grissle..but we loves the gristle.. i like this recipe and have been dying for a good beef and barley soup.. Imma try this.!! it looks Delicious.. QUESTION: How come AfroPrepper doesn't weigh 300 pounds? He should be well on his way with how good your food looks. =)
@brainnoise1 : He has actually gained about 30 lbs of good weight since I met him. I have no idea why he's not fat. On top of the food he also has a beer or glass of wine with dinner HAHA. ps) if you use fresh parsley before serving I think it tastes even better!
@toddweller I'm sure he will be asking you for some tips...and even if your son wasn't grown - Kids in Asia and Europe sip an occasional beer with their Dads...Shhhh I tried beer at 10 yrs old for New Years in Asia one year - my uncle put a pink straw in it - HAHA
cant wait for the canning vid. the recipe looks good. i love barley. everyone seems to be happy with the choice. lots on here have this stuff DEHYDRATED which im working on getting one. its the way to go. :O )
Thanks, SheChef, I have never used barley, but a couple of months ago, I ordered a 40# bag & socked it away. My goal was to learn to use it this winter. Beef and barley soup was first on my list. Thanks for the primer. And what are you doing with my cutting board? LOL This would be so easy to convert to using all long-term food storage: dehydrated onion, carrots, celery, bell pepper, tomato powder, dried parsley & green onion, freeze dried beef crumbles, etc...I've got it all stored away!
It's getting cool in Kansas too...Will make this soup and fresh bread later this week mmmmmm . Do you find it takes twice as long to make your recipes when you do a how-to video? LOL
@KCMadquilter I find it DOES take twice as long and its a bit annoying! LOL but not like anyone around here will complain coz they will get to eat no matter what!
That looks so much better than the beef barley soup we had ast night. You have so many delicious looking and sounding recipes, I am making a video file just of your videos! Thank you for sharing and please, keep em coming!!
If I were to try and speak directions while demonstrating the chopping, the ingredients would be: 4 green onions, 3 tomatoes, 1 carrot, and 5 fingertips. As always, looks yummy!
@modoc42 LOL you can donate your fingertips when SHTF...please try this soup, it's delicious with homemade toasted bread!!! Baking and Soup is AWESOME for us huh? PS) I found a yeast with 25% higher loaves and specially made for whole grain - it's by Hodgson Mill...
@TheSheChef Your home must smell great all the time with all that delicious cooking and baking you do. I'm printing off and saving up all these recipes. Gotta wait until payday before I can get down to the 'big city' to get the ingredients. I will definitely be looking for the yeast by Hodgson Mill. What a great discovery. Thanks for passing in on.
