ummm.. I case you were not aware, the Sony Blu-ray is the best one on the market. It is the ONLY one that supports firmware upgrades on a regular basis by sony. An $800.00 comparable unit does not. And the output for what it is, is very good. When these consoles came out, people were buying them for the blu-ray alone. Correct me if I am wrong.

Err, no. It never was, and never will be. When it first came out, it couldnt decode the new codecs, and even now, it can only decode and send via LPCM and not bitstream. The picture suffers from noise and it sounds too bright. For the price of a PS3, you can get a Pioneer BDP-51FD, or a Panasonic DMP BD 55, which im afraid trounce the PS3 in every aspect.

DTS HD MA is a completely new ball game. But in order to get the full benefit, you need a good reciever and speaker set up. And also a good bd spinner. If you're a AV madman, you should really have a standalone BD player. The PS3 sounds a wee bit too bright.

I kinda figured that. Now that things have come down in price, I'm looking at a standalone unit. I purchased a BD-Rom drive, and even though the sound card is holding me back, I've played some DTS-HD MA titles, and it's incredibly smooth. Once Auzentech comes out with their X-Fi HomeTheater HD card, I'll be able to hear it a lot better.

yea you can, if your PC and Ps3 are connected to the same router, you can play music and video that you have on your PC from the ps3, if you have a PSP and your near a hotspot you can listen and view movies from where ever you are Via ps3, you can also use youtube, veoh and all that from the ps3 browser (linux)
