  • smooth but blurry. too bad about the small texture cache.

  • I still wonder who composed the music, that is totally different from the original PC game (composed by Trent Reznor / NIN (AMAZING dark ambient OST !BTW and maybe one of their three best album) .. this version is much more ambient , cool music menu (cheap but awesome, very 90's like)

  • I remember playing this it was a cool game i never did pass it tho wish i did good shit!!!

  • Sweet!

  • i wish quake 1 was on ps1

  • @robs1496 lol I don't. I can't imagine the horrendous textures and character models.

  • the fps on this version of quake are definitely better than th fps on the Dreamcast version of quake

  • Grunt: ROAR! AH! WAH!

  • art

  • it's amazing how far we came in gaming. i remember when i thought ocarina of time was the greatest game ever in terms of graphics, but now we play games like gears and god of war 3 and twilight princess, and it's just remarkable how far gaming has gotten over the years, and it's hard to think where they'll take it in the years to come

  • This game is sooooo funny playing multiplayer. Did it 24/7 with my older brother and my dad as a kid =)

  • N64 games don't load, they BUILD! I already had the PC version but hired this one out for the heck of it, my comp back then didn't support OpengGL, but I still reckon this one has way better lighting effects

  • @cAc3d Haha well Quake 1 on PC has so many different engines now that blow this one away.

But if we are talking about this VS GLQuake, this one has slightly better lighting effects. Though this game also has a filter option which sorta smooths everything out :). In my opinion the best third party engine for Quake 1 on the PC is Dark Places.

  • @cAc3d

    It's the same difference.

  • I hate the stupid password thing.

  • Zombie carrying guns? Thats a rare first person shooter! Usually its just shooting zombies. What fun is that?

  • @InsideOutGamer actually, they are aliens.

  • @InsideOutGamer your name is "insideoutgamer", so I would assume you are a gamer. Yet, your lack of knowledge about quake is inconsistent with your name... Go Change your name into "notagamer" or something like that. DOn't shame us gamers with your ignorance.

  • @praystation

I haven't played this before. What do you expect.

And this is how you sound to me; "omgomglolol gamers are lk proffeszzors lol"

Games rot your mind, nothing to be proffesional over.

  • @InsideOutGamer Nope, I've been gaming since Atari 2600. At least it hasn't destroyed my Vocabulary. (Professional is spelled with double s, not double f). And there was an article in "archives or surgery" that Surgeons, who played video games, are more skillful at operating laparoscopic tools used in modern Surgeries vs those who don't game. SOurce? google it. (google this: surgeon gaming laparoscopy). Lap tools are modern surgeries tools that requires small incisions only.

  • @praystation

    Well, then, PROFESSOR, excuse meeee.

I have been gaming since the Gameboy + N64.

Around some of the later atari's.

    So.

  • @InsideOutGamer and this game, came out during the transition of 80486 PC cpu to Pentium classic cpu. we are taling about pentium 120Mhz and below. I am surprised you didn't know this.

  • @praystation

Seriously? 80486 PC CPU to Pentium CPU? Woah, 120Mhz...

Yeah, your brain is slowly rotting.

  • Interestingly, the version of n64 and it has some outstanding and unique sounds, such as the music menu, I remember that I was too scared to play this game when I was a child especially afraid of bumping into a monster Shambler.

  • Faço melhor!

  • Comment removed

  • Menu Music brings back some memories. I'll probobly get around to playin it again. Does anybody remeber the map "Underearth"?

  • @TheFred128 english ¬¬

    lol :P

  • ingles is how it's spelled in spanish i'm pretty sure. not 100% sure though.

  • @FrankiEmo92 ingles means english, i speak spanish

  • What the hell is up with the animations. They are anime like.

  • GRTEAT GAME but the aiming can get u offguard but still kickass

  • at least the graphics on this are better than doom 64. Hexen and Heretic were also bad ass games,

  • duke nukems better in that game you just cant go shooting bullets into the air

  • doom is alot better!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes but this is still a classic and better then most shooters today!

  • Music in menu is very cool :)))))))))))))

  • nine inch nails probably

  • Hey thanks for uploading this. I never got to play this game but I hope to someday. What is the control scheme?

  • If you have ever played Turok on N64 it's kind of like that.

  • Why are you playing around with the filter so much?

  • oh man this game is old i remember playing this as kid lol

  • i have this game and its the best just one thing about it is that its freakin dark!

  • Yeah but not as dark as doom 3 XD

  • doom 64 was the best doom game, doom 3 was to alien like, where as doom 64 was alot more demonic

  • true, very true. But Doom 3 has a lot of satanic imagery towards the end with the final boss.

  • if you liked quake 64, you should try quake as it was meant to be played on the pc. Its on steam now for only a few dollars, a really fun game.

  • I've had the original since I was 12 :P

  • @DarkShadowRage2 ive had the original since i was 3 or 4 lol

  • Thanks for reviving this claasic.

    Great playthrough too.
