Corset TOP!! Those things from Hot Topic are corset TOPS!! Real corset = steel boning = waist cinching. Plastic boning = corset top = just for looks. Sorry if I sound overly critical, I'm just really technical about stuff.
Actually some of the plastic stuff works just as good as the steel stuff...and is less likely to snag/rip fabric. :) If you ask a worker at a sewing/craft store they can show you the boning they use for wedding dresses and prom dresses. :)
@favoritedeadpeople The thing is plastic boning can work fine for a while but it tends to change shape over time simply due to the heat and preasure from your body. And the boning used in prom dresses is used to suport the dress and help it keep its shape, not to apply preasure to the torso.
@VictorianAndroid actually its more in the pattern and how its made rather than what type of boning - plastic bones better mimic whale boning , steel boning will be harder , but no less successful in waist training - fashion "corsets" or bustiers can be lightly boned in plastic boning or in rigaleen boning - like in formal and bridal wear but are not designed to reduce the waist
@VictorianAndroid a waist training corset will be made from coutill consist of a lining an inner layer and possible outter fashion, have waist tape which reinforces the waist , flossing these days is optional when sewn with an industrial machine but still necessaries to secure bones if made in a traditional fashion
i prefer to train in plastic boned corsets as they are not a harsh more comfortable for every day wear - but the boning is really a prefrence
i thought this was a great video and your speeaking was just fine. i was a little dissapointed though, because i was hoping for tips on how to make an actual steel boned corset(like for waist training and body shaping) instead of one for a fashion corset.
still a great video
still good for beginner sewers (like me lol) to watch
Very informative. Not that I have any sewing skills or anything, or look good in corsets, but oh well. I love the random part about wondering whether you are screaming, and the part where you randomly zoom in and show us the button.
p.s. I totally know how to do cat's cradle! I will teach you if you want! :)
p.s.s. I'm sure you did totally fine on your presentation! Be positive!
i thhink they are all beautiful well done

This video is terrible ! Disorganized, poor sound, nattering commentary and a pile of stuff thrown on a patio table. What a mess.
