  • 1of my fev blues song that Otis Rush composed & played.Almost every Blues giant like >Clapton,Stevie Ray covered this tune.Love this version of R Cray.

  • Ahh yeah, Marcus Miller on bass - good stuff!

  • Soulful,

  • Cray must have thought his ship had really come in. The guys on drums bass elec piano, not second rate. These guys are jazzers out the top drawer.

  • What a FukCing Solo Feeling!

  • me encanta esta version... genial Robert...

  • A classic version of the Otis Rush remarkable creation. I used to listen to it on Vanguard's "Chicago, the Blues Today". Clapton did it justice with John Mayal.

  • This clip is from a British show called Sunday Night and was produced by Lorne Micheals, the same man who gave us Saturday Night Live!

  • @edie19591

Made in the USA and called Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show hosted by Jools Holland and David Sanborn which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.

  • Nice Intro !!!!

  • is that david sanborn on horn along with Marcus and Robben?...Wow!

  • @jazzbass25 No doubt! David Sanborn AND Robert Cray?! Was Jesus not available or something?!

  • great funked up version of an Otis Rush classic! luv that groove that Marcus is layin' down.Marcus has a great love and respect for the Blues. when i saw him live he called every song a Blues, even a Beethoven song! cool vid, thx kbelna.

  • Nice tune

  • I love the James Bond chord at the end.

  • I have been looking for months now to find a recorded version of this!!! I MUST HAVE IT!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE!!!! :-)

  • Feel the bassline.............. This is the REAL music

  • Actually, the name of the song is "All Your Love" by Otish Rush, it's a Blues classic and had been recorded by Clapton, SRV and many others.

  • MR MARCUS MILLER ON BASS

  • masterly

  • Help! what album is this off?? i want the recorded version in good quality

  • two different grooves and feelings in one song i love this shit!

  • This is magic!!

  • Everyone of the band members you see and here are great in their own right.

A good lesson to musos everywhere in laying it down, no egos, work as a unit and make front man the best he can be. That is what music should be about.

  • Marcus Miller on bass?????????

  • Pure Soul..

  • the riff at 1.25 just blew me away

  • Brilliant! A terrific version! A classic live solo!

  • I was grown up with the cover version of this song played by Gary Moore, but i like the powerfull voice of Robert :)

  • @Dashercard Hear SRV:S version of this song!! Very powerful version from Stevie!!

  • Coming June 6 to DownTown Flagstaff, Wednesday Night. I am there.

  • Geeze, I'd give my both my nu#$ to sing like that.....oh, maybe that's his secret.

  • amazing voice, the best..

  • Isnt that Marcus Miller on the bass!!. Man this version is killer

  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's Nathan East on bass. He's best known for his work with Eric Clapton.

  • I think that's Marcus Miller, but I'm not sure.

  • I love Robert Cray!

  • the rythm guitarist is ROBBEN FORD, HAHAHA, I don`t beieve that. Marcus Miller and Robben Ford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is on a show that David Sanborn co-hosted. Ford, MIller, and Sanborn were in the house band. There are some great recordings of Jeff Healey on this show.

  • @wallis222

jools holland is doing the introduction so I think it is on the later with jools holland show.

  • @wallis222

the intro is done by jools holland so it must be the later with jools holland show.

  • I dig this a lot. I was always used to hearing the john mayall version and i love hearing robert cray put his own style on the song.

  • awesome performer!

  • I love R.Cray!! great great great feeling! great bluesman!

  • and is that david sanborn blowing the sax!?

  • Just got back from his concert in São Paulo, (Brazil). Just amazing.

  • Robert Cray And...Marcus Miller on the bass ..!!!! Wow .. Awesome !!

  • oh so did cray copose this song? stevie ray vaughan covered this song

  • Otis Rush wrote the song i believe

  • its an otis rush song been covered by quite a few people

    robert cray

    stevie

    buddy guy

and the most famous is clapton from the beano album with john mayall and the bluesbreakers

  • yeh SRV'S version is beyond belief just amazing. so is this one

  • Is that Marcus miller on bass?

  • i believe so

  • Haha the middle solo when the band picks up the pace sounds like those levitra commercials! gee robert is great. see him if you can! fantastic live.

  • Hahaha, respect !! This is truly amazing performance.

  • Cray is a future god: B.B. king is living as the main man now, then goes Buddy Guy, and Cray is already there, but being a gentlemen and complementing everyone. He will shine as the king one day. But take E.C: I love what he does, he makes more music that more people can be interested in (all types, including much more than blues) I do believe though that he is only a disciple. You can blame Jimi for that one, that guy is the holy ghost.

  • i uploaded don't be afraid of the dark studio version don't know if that is what you wanted

  • i absolutely love robert cray- he's always ommitted it seems when ppl debate the 'best' guitarists of all time but he's such a genius.

does anyone have 'don't be afraid of the dark' they could upload? surprised to see it is not on youtube :(

  • JUST GREAT!

  • thanks for the post,brilliant.

  • Unbelievable vocalist and probably the only Blues guitarist who goes straight to amp. Robert Cray is like the contemporary Magic Sam. Thank you kbena for this marvelous clip.

  • nowadays he uses a couple of effects though, like delay

  • thank you for posting a great singer/player

  • Brilliant.

  • uhh man i nearly passed out! Whata quaky sound, first thought it because of the old vcr but it is just the sound of pure mastery

  • Wow!!! Very sweet guitar sound... and very grat team: Marcus Miller on bass, Robben Ford on the guitar, probally Joe Sample on Keys and David Sanborn at Sax... just amazing!

  • i've been watching this over and over again today. it just sounds so damn good!

  • For the record, Night Music was a cool tv show from the 80s hosted by David Sanborn. So the band backing Cray here is not who he usually plays with. It's basically Dave's old group which was usually Marcus Miller on bass, Hiram Bullock on guitar, Steve Gadd percussion, and I think Omar Hakim on drums.

Same goes for the vid of Jeff Healey.

  • Absolutely best clean bluesguitarrist! Not allso bad singer! LOVE IT!

  • That basist played with Jeff Healey I think

Least he looks the same as the other guy

  • I think you're right. He does look like the same guy. BTW, go ahead on & keep knockin 'em dead Mr. Cray!!!!!!!!!! (And that's David Sanborn on sax.)

  • the bassist played with miles davis man!!

and with clapton. Its Marcus Miller man.

  • Cary is like all the other American greats who could sing and play for real. The new artists in pop could have trouble trying to stay an evening in this group. They play from soul to just plain great technique

  • This is a fantastic song,heard many a versions,love this one,ENCLUDING the original done by Otis himself.I tried my hand at it a couple times,even put up a lil vid(tell me what you think?)I love otis rush,robert cray,stevie ray,hendrix,buddy guy,muddy waters,albert king,b.b.king,albert colins,freddie king,bob magolin,robben ford,johnny winters,eric clapton,debbie davies,Micheal burks,susan tedeschi,tab benoit,kenny neal,magic sam,magic slim,Johnny copeland and the list goes on.

  • Do you know Stanley Jordan?

  • Greatest blues guitar on the planet. period.

  • I'm so glad that some people still know what music sounds like!

  • that point where they crossed over to the shuffle stuff, was awsome.

  • Stevie Ray does a real great version of this too. Robert rocks the house too! Two great guitar players.

  • Yes...Stevie Ray does an awesome version of this song. I just wanted to mention that this song was written by the great Otis Rush. You should check him out!! Jimi...Stevie Ray...& countless others did. (BTW, thanks for posting!!)

  • jools holand :O

  • Bob is from other planet! thanxs 4 the clip, what a wonderful time, and Robben playing that minimal rithm guitar!

    great!
